It’s been a year since Parliament gave Carney sweeping powers under Bill C-5, which the Prime Minister said was going to ‘expedite nation-building projects and unleash economic growth’. But his only actions have been to continue blocking projects from moving forward.

This is pretty shocking and deceitful behaviour. It would be one thing and still be bad if private actors were engaging in this, but it's completely unacceptable for a public broadcaster to be behaving this way.

We received the paperwork from Alto High-Speed Rail regarding our dairy farm today, and with it came a profound sense of grief. What is being presented as progress carries devastating consequences for the people and places rooted in this land, farms, family homes, wildlife habitats, small businesses, churches, and even cemeteries stand in the path of irreversible change. For many of us in Eastern Ontario, this is far more than an infrastructure project. It is the beginning of a deep psychological and emotional loss. This project is expected to cost Canadians billions of dollars amounting to roughly $10,000 per Canadian. Massive 16 foot barriers and fencing will divide communities, block side roads and destroy the countryside that generations of families have called home. Current projections suggest it may not be fully paid off until 2093 leaving future generations responsible for the cost. In our case, the proposed route leaves us without enough productive land to properly feed our cows and sustain our dairy operation. 500 farms will be removed, the impact on farming families will be severe and long-lasting. All Canadians deserve to be fully informed about what this project truly means not just in terms of transportation, but in terms of the human cost, these are not empty fields on a map. Carney blames tariffs for Canada’s shrinking economy, but has failed to reduce a single tariff on Canadian goods, which keep getting worse: steel tariffs have doubled, lumber tariffs have tripled, and manufacturing tariffs have broadened under Carney’s watch.

Says something one week … says another a few weeks later. He is just as inconsistent as the flip floppers he attracts.

Minister says government has saved 142 million dollars, yet the deficit has even gotten worse.

Nothing screams “building at speeds not seen in generations” quite like launching consultations on how to create another bureaucracy after the last bureaucracy was created so you could circumvent the first bureaucracy you created to try and get things built. These Liberals are clueless. There is multiple committee reports and witness testimony they could look at that will tell them what the problem is. Hint: look in the mirror.

Mark Carney is not the solution to Canada’s major projects crisis; he is the problem. The industrial carbon tax, the tanker ban, the emissions cap, and Liberal red tape are still driving investment, jobs, and paycheques out of Canada.
