I'm so thrilled and honored to have a short story in this issue of the amazing @FictionUtopia! "Please Don't Eat the Mattress" is inspired by my experience as a standup comedian, also aliens.

So thrilled to have this piece published in BULL Lit! I wrote it during my first semester of my PhD. It’s kind of a takedown of a Junot Diaz piece with a similar how-to vibe but is definitely its own thing.

just got my second short story acceptance in two weeks after a year-long dry spell!

Tutoring a PhD candidate and I think I talked myself into his dissertation about AI and how he needed me, a human, to help write it and it was the most meta thing to ever meta

I asked the mechanic “what would it have cost if I was a man?” And he mumbled back the same bloated price. I said that’s bullshit. Then I paid it bc I’m a woman and the urge to acquiesce is still more powerful than me.
