@AdrienneBranden @AdrienneBranden thank you for this reminder…🤮 So@done just talked about doing this and I was like, “We don’t do privilege walks anymore. Ever.” And then just said it was performative. I needed more language. ❤️

Dear white educational and organizational leaders: Yes, being an antiracist leader sometimes can be hard. But remember, it's not as hard as being somebody who is racially oppressed in an organization where nobody has the knowledge, skills, and will to be an antiracist leader.

Today, a jury did the right thing. But true justice requires much more. Michelle and I send our prayers to the Floyd family, and we stand with all those who are committed to guaranteeing every American the full measure of justice that George and so many others have been denied.

“...Between 1981 and 2002, policies supported by at least 80 percent of affluent voters passed into law about 45 percent of the time, while policies opposed by at least 80 percent of those voters passed into law just 18 percent of the time.”

"The principal of a high school... found three students huddled under a blanket outside the building on a rainy day, using the school’s wireless network to complete (schoolwork) because they could not log in from their homes." Shame on this rich country nytimes.com/2020/04/09/opi…

In case you can’t tell from my retweeted comments, I’m pissed. I’m tired of politicians, entitled elites, and low information voters putting us all in danger and jeopardy.

How is teaching and learning from home changing what you value?

My district is on spring break this week, but good lord this feels far from restful. The snow storm will help? Been checking in with a few students and they’re hanging tough. Grateful for so much.

DO NOT - I repeat - DO NOT overcomplicate online learning or give your students lots of busy work now. This is not the time for that; instead, provide small doses of meaningful work that keep minds fresh and engaged. This message is brought to you by me and @CarolJago :)

Let’s be careful not to add to parents’ stress with new online curricular demands. (P.S. Teachers have children at home, too.)

Can we PLEASE stop calling what we are doing "ONLINE TEACHING" already? We are not "online teaching." Why? Because we would never teach online courses unless we knew how to teach online courses. We are crisis-driven-global-pandemic-emergency-response teaching. Big difference.

Hey teachers! 10 year hybrid/blended learning teacher veteran here. What questions do you have as you shift to online and remote learning? What tools, resources, or support would be most helpful? I’m compiling a folder and doc to share out through @teachunited #onlinelearning
