Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mom❤️🕊️ There’s so much I wish I could say to you today. I miss you more than words could ever explain. Life hasn’t been the same since you left. The truth is, I died the same day you did; the only difference is that you’re the one who stopped breathing. The week you were in the ICU, my life crashed. I prayed, cried, and begged for a miracle. I was ready to share the testimony, believing God would hear me. But they say God knows best, and I’m learning to hold on to that truth, even when it hurts. You were a praying mother, and I will always remember that. The events that happened before you passed showed me that you are in a better place, and for that reason, I will not mourn like those who have no hope. Even through the pain, I’m grateful. I’m grateful that I loved you deeply and loudly while you were here. I’m glad the world saw how much I adored you and how much you loved me right back. I’m grateful for the memories we made, the laughter we shared, and the bond we built. They’ll last me a lifetime. Thank you, Mom, for every sacrifice, every prayer, and every moment of love. Thank you for raising me to be strong, kind, and fearless. When my heart feels heavy, I go back to your voice notes, that’s where I hear you again. Sometimes I cry harder, sometimes I smile, but every time I’m reminded how blessed I am to have been loved by you. We had so many plans — your trip to the UK, the things we wanted to do together, the laughs we hadn’t shared yet. It hurts knowing we won’t get those moments, but I’ll carry you with me in everything I do. Your death changed me, Mom. It broke me in ways I can’t explain. But I’m still breathing, still breathing for you. I’ll keep going with your strength in my heart and your love guiding my steps. Happy birthday, CHINYERE PATRICIA OKECHUKWU, my forever Queen, the QUALITY woman, the real Energy Queen. Thank you for being my mother, my light, and my greatest blessing. I’ll love you loudly in every lifetime.🤍

1. Your post code plays a very big factor in the future of your kids. Research and read about the location you want to buy the house. Unlike renting where you can easily move out after 6months or one year, this is your home for the next 5-10 years at least and you don’t want to end up not liking your environment. We were very close to buying a house in Harlow some years back until we did some digging online. 2. Please go for new build as a first time buyer… renovation costs are not cheap. 3. Set aside at least £10K- £15K extra cash for furnishing. 4. If you can, avoid terrace houses (they are leasehold often times)

For someone looking to buy their first house in the UK, what advice do you have to give them? If you don’t want to leave it in the comments, pls send me a DM. Thanks and God bless 🙏🏾

I’m not your Financial Advisor- But, I strongly recommend you consider buying cars in the UK 🇬🇧 with the cash you have available. Buying a car on Finance is gross lack of financial intelligence in my opinion. No vex oh!🙏🏽

First time I entered bus in Manchester, I saw an elderly man inside the bus with his wheelchair. I was thinking maybe he had aids commuting with him. When he got to his stop, he pressed the stop bell, moved his wheelchair and rode to the exit at the front. The bus driver made sure to stop close to the kerb. I was still wondering how he would get down because the bus was higher than the kerb. The next things, I saw the driver press a button and the bus lowered down to the exact level of the kerb and the man rode out with his wheelchair. Instantly, I cursed Nigeria like 7 times immediately. My head was all over the place. Highest level of consideration I’ve seen a society provide for its citizens.

My first week in the UK, I went to a Tesco store to buy a few things. I picked toothpaste, body oil, lubricant and big mayonnaise. I got a bag and, after putting the items inside, the bag suddenly tore and the mayonnaise broke. The first thing that ran through my mind was: “Chai… so I will have to pay for another one again?” 😪😭 While I was still deep in my sapa thoughts, about 2–3 staff members rushed to me saying: “Oh my darling.” “You alright?” “Bless you, my lovely.” “Are you hurt?” “Do I need to ring 999?” “Do you need medical attention?” “Are you sure you’re okay?” I was so confused like… what exactly is going on here? At the same time, I felt like a spoiled toddler being over-pampered. Then one of the staff members rushed to the aisle and replaced everything I bought. I mean everything. Water first Comot for my eyes 😭😭 In those moments I remembered my dear country…. If you’ve never travelled outside Nigeria, you might not understand how much we are actually suffering in that ZOO. 😔 If you’ve had a similar experience abroad, kindly share it with us. What shocked you the most when you first travelled?

Half of UK universities face a deficit next year. Up to 50 could close. That is a sector in crisis. Simply blaming a tuition fee freeze and nudging fees up with inflation is not a plan. Where is the long-term strategy for higher education? #Universities #HigherEducation | @UCU

My coworker ended her five-year marriage over something most people would probably call “small.” She told me that in their home, she naturally took on the chores. She cooked. She did the laundry. She kept things running. It wasn’t something they formally discussed... it just became the routine. And she went along with it. Then she got sick. Not just a light cold... the kind where your body feels heavy and even standing up is exhausting. For once, she couldn’t function the way she usually did. That evening, her husband came home, saw the laundry basket, and separated his clothes from hers. He washed only his. Later, he made himself dinner, plated it, and ate. When she asked if he could make something simple for her too, he replied, “I’m exhausted. I don’t have the energy.” She said it wasn’t even the words that hurt. It was the absence of instinct. The absence of care. The fact that helping her didn’t occur to him automatically the way serving him had always occurred to her. That night, lying there sick and hungry, she realized she wasn’t in a partnership. She was in an arrangement where her labor was expected, but his effort was optional. People think love disappears in dramatic arguments or explosive fights. But sometimes it fades in moments like that... when someone watches you struggle and chooses convenience over compassion.

We are in urgent need of support for the family of Saburi Olayinka Adeniji, who is currently in critical condition following a severe brain stem injury. Saburi was admitted to Intensive Care on 15 January 2026 and is under the care of the Critical Care Department at Queen’s Hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, doctors have medically classified Saburi as brain dead. At this incredibly difficult time, Saburi’s wife and young daughter are in Nigeria, unable to be by his side. The hospital has issued an official letter urgently requesting compassionate consideration to allow his wife to travel to the UK as soon as possible, so she can be with her husband and say her final goodbye. This is a moment no family should face alone. We are appealing for urgent support, prayers, and any assistance possible to help reunite Saburi with his wife during his final moments. Your kindness, compassion, and solidarity mean more than words can express.
