@Anthony__Koch It's a public service... Our schools don't generate profits, nor do our roads, or our libraries, or our hospitals. These are things that we invest in because their services benefit us as a society and as human beings, not to inflate anyone's bank account.

Let me get this straight. #tvdsb director Mark Fisher is on a paid leave of absence! Isn't that rich? He spent all of June bashing teachers because the board can't afford leaves. How much is his leave costing taxpayers? #onted

@steve_boots So true.
I feel people do not understand the emotional labour in this job. Education is so much more complicated now. People just can’t see that.
Stay strong Boots. 🥾

@Teachers__Unite So very, very true. It’s to “co-regulate” and for some reason that means reinforcing negative behaviour.
IF the treats were given when the kids are doing well, it would be a totally different outcome.

@HamNightmare @Teachers__Unite Most planning time happens outside of instructional hours. It’s take me 2-3 weekends to write reports 3x a year. Plus evenings sourcing or creating instructional materials followed by hours of marking weekly. ALL of it is after school.
English

Working conditions such as violent incidents, increased workload, diminishing resources, and diminishing student supports are the reasons #onted have recruitment, retention, and attendance problems.
English

@HamNightmare @John16180339887 @Teachers__Unite I buy everything that supports the learning environment. I buy all instructional resources. I buy student consumables: folders, markers, pencils etc. I buy ALL the math tools used on a daily basis. I buy all the art and science materials and all special occasion supplies. ALL!

@CheriDiNovo @TheFrankDomenic This is ridiculous. @fordnation
@Sflecce
Why on Earth is convenient booze more important than health care, housing, education, mental health, addictions, long term care … ?

@TheFrankDomenic And why is it anyone else’s business what a woman chooses to do with her own body.

The CPC is really trying really hard to show Canadians they aren't going to make abortion illegal 🙄 don't let the woke lids distract you #cdnpoli #pierrepoilievre

Today I moved a motion to reaffirm a woman’s right to reproductive health care and what did the Conservatives do? They shut down the meeting. (1/2)

Analogy: Education is like a house on fire. It’s burning, verge of collapse, and in desperate need of help, but you @Sflecce and @fordnation water the shed, the fence or even the neighbour’s house instead.
English

@ONT_Dad @hardyrenos Rage farming - Good term - sums it up perfectly.
English

@Sflecce Instead, let’s confront the issues of limited resources, large class sizes, student mental health, behaviour issues, lack of support for special needs ….
English

We must confront the issue of cell phone distractions & vaping once & for all.
With over 80% of Ontario residents strongly supporting enhanced education & enforcement, our government will introduce a comprehensive plan to restore focus & safety in the classroom.

@Teachers__Unite This data would be so useful to allocated support in the right places. Hiding data helps absolutely no one.
English

Board staff push back on trustees' request for school safety data, saying it's a big ask!
For god sake, #tvdsb just give them the information. What do you have to hide? We all know school violence is spiraling out of control!

@CheriDiNovo Wouldn’t it make more sense to use that money toward hiring Child Youth Workers who can intervene, counsel and help resolve situations that arise.

@Sflecce @MichaelFordTO @MPPBarnesAjax @NatalieKPierre @Charmomof5 @ahmadiyyacanada @SherefSabawyPC @Aris_Babikian @ninatangri @DeepakAnandMPP @laurasthornhill “Hatred for none?” Then why are you so nasty toward educators?
English

‘Love for all, hatred for none’ is a unifying message that our country & our world needs now more than ever.
I was proud to welcome & co-host the Ahmadiyya community to Queen’s Park with Michael Ford for an Iftar dinner attended by many government MPPs.
