Yes. Farmers are having sleepless nights and the British public are being warned of food shortages. All of this was entirely preventable. We should produce fertiliser in Britain, we used to, Net Zero put an end to that. Now we rely on the geopolitical seesaw.

Britain’s CO2 vulnerability was not created by Iran. It was created when UK Ministers allowed domestic ammonia production to collapse in 2022. CO2 is a by-product of ammonia production. High energy prices, carbon taxes, North Sea vandalism, the fracking ban and more made production uncompetitive. So we imported the ammonia instead and lost resilience. Now ministers are blaming Iran and Trump to exculpate their ideological pursuit of Net Zero. Net Zero is to blame for why your food shop is about to become more expensive.
