So if a wrestler turned 19 in high school during the 2025-26 school year, year 1 of eligibility is 26-27

Usa wrestling is in such a good space!Since college wrestling is tied to folkstyle we have “appeared” to be behind the rest of world (Russia, Iran), but we’re finally producing 18/19 year old medal threats at the sr level in freestyle wrestling. It’s truly awesome to watch.

Freestyle used to warn you for any time your head is down and your opponent could make you take your headgearoff. Now we have people who wear head butt headgear and all they do is head butt and push for step outs.
