Should I try and explain? Do you promise to receive my explanation with civility even if you don’t agree with it? Ok here goes: There are only three learned professions: Law, Medicine and Theology. That is why when a lawyer is cross-examining a doctor or clergy from traditional churches, they do so with a measure of respect. The learned title means that the person is not just educated, they have acquired professional training and been examined in terms of knowledge AND character and found to be worthy. By that training, a learned person learns about the whole human being. That is why you can present certain symptoms to a doctor and he may ask you about work stress, diet, the home front, etc. A priest will do the same and will ask about your marriage, your children, your work, etc. he will additionally worry about the destination of your soul after you die. Similarly, a lawyer understands human nature and the duality between his ability to do good but also to do shocking evil and is confronting and navigating that in his work daily. He will worry about protecting your life and property both when you are alive and when you are dead. In each of the three professions, the person trusts you with their life, liberty or soul. Also, a learned person can be struck off if they misbehave. So, you see? Lawyers, doctors and traditional clergy are, by their training, more than just educated. That is what is different. ✌🏽

They are gradually crawling out from their coven with Politically tainted analysis of the presidency would be decided. How impossible it would be for candidate A or Candidate B to win. How the president as a political strategist has secured this region or that region. But what they fail to tell their gullible listener is that the president has in these four years squandered the good will of those who had faith in him that he would at least deliver on good governance. Those who had premised their support on the fact that he would be better than his predecessors. In your analysis, I hope you took into account the multi dimensional poverty, insecurity, lopsided appointment, inconsistent policy in which this government has plunged Nigerians into? If the election is just 60 percent free and fair I will tell you for free that either Obi or Atiku would easily defeat this government. This is not a rocket, this president was painfully thrashed in Lagos State, his home State in 2023.
Osamudiamen@OSAS4l

Political analysts that said Peter Obi won’t win any state in 2023 want us to listen to them in 2026. Political analyst that said Atiku will clear SS, SE and middle belt in 2023 want us to listen to them in 2026.

These politicians from the way they speak do not believe in the very country they pretend to serve. They find pleasure and comfort in the assumption that Nigeria is beyond redemption...this assumption is made manifest when you hear someone like @ShehuSani arrogantly deflect and downplay the sufferings of Nigeria by- "Nothing would have changed if either @PeterObi or @atiku had won." Let's even assume that nothing would have changed, are Nigerian not entitled to a free and credible election in which questions like this would have been satisfactorily answered. There is no way to know if anything would have changed because INEC decided to be unfortunate. Now we have an opportunity in 2027, I hope some one like @ShehuSani would join his voice with that of millions of Nigerian to demand a free, fair and credible election.

"If you are looking for people who destroyed this country from 1999-2015, they are in the ADC. If you are looking for people who destroyed Nigeria from 2015-2023, they are in the ADC..." - Shehu Sani

The decision of a lawyer to represent a client pro bono is not an indication of idleness, desperation, or diminished worth. It is, rather, an act of deliberate grace, a conscious sacrifice of time, resources, and professional energy extended out of genuine concern for another's welfare. Therefore, to receive such representation is to receive a privilege, not an entitlement. It ought to be treated with the seriousness, gratitude, and cooperation it deserves. To do otherwise is not merely discourteous , it is a betrayal of the goodwill that made it possible.

Every time I visit a Nigerian university, one painful truth hits me. Our universities are full of idle minds. Not because Nigerian students are not intelligent. They are some of the most brilliant minds anywhere in the world. But because the system has reduced the university to a glorified secondary school. Students sit in classrooms copying notes and they cram for exams. They submit projects that are mostly copy-and-paste from the internet and after four years, we call it a degree. A university is not supposed to be a place where people only receive knowledge. It is supposed to be a place where knowledge is created, where students build things, where ideas are tested, where new discoveries happen, where research pushes the country forward and where young people are challenged to solve real problems. But in Nigeria, many universities have become factories that produce certificates instead of thinkers. You cannot build a great nation with a system that trains young people to memorise instead of question, copy instead of create, and pass exams instead of solve problems. Look at the countries leading the world today. Their universities are engines of innovation, research, patents, and ideas. Our universities should be building new technologies, new medicines, new agricultural systems and new economic models. Instead, many students are graduating without ever creating anything original. This is not a student problem but rather it is a national problem. If we do not urgently rethink what university education means in Nigeria, we will keep producing millions of graduates who are educated on paper but powerless in reality. Nigeria has too much talent to waste like this.
