#TheMandalorianandGrogu is the most barebones “Star Wars” film we could’ve gotten, which is a disappointment considering we waited seven years for the franchise to return to the big screens. It’s fun and entertaining, has an addictive score from Ludwig Göransson, and has great action that makes use of the puppetry and practicality to an advantage. There’s so much missed potential, and at times, the movie can find itself being quite dull and feeling slightly too long. It’s a decent standalone adventure that solidifies the bond between the titular characters, but outside of that, it fails to do anything refreshing or interesting with the franchise.
