January in Saskatchewan can be pretty cruel. But 2023 has gifted us quite the treat with mild temperatures, lots of frost, and all the pretty skies!

2/2 a few days later: 4 yo: “mama, you want to play working with me?” my kids play dad’s job a lot, moving cows, feeding cows, treating cows. But on this day she decides to play my work. “Mama, here’s my truck and this is my quad, get in we’re going to check flax!”

2 moments with my 4 yr old this week that made my agronomist heart happy. I came home from sampling, headed straight to wash up . Babe asked what I’m doing. Me: “washing the dirt off my hands and face”. 4 yo response: “mama,it’s not dirt. It’s soil.” 1/2

Some days cowboy stuff is fun. Those are the days the wind isn’t blowing. We got all the patron cows sent home this week. Thanks to some great help!

We were a bit short of heat units a month ago but most of the corn crops we see in our area are reaching the maturity they need now…

@2INTMD8 Absolutely. Very ominous. There was some hail in the storm. But it just dropped a gentle half inch of rain on us.
