I had a medical student from Italy shadowing me this week & we discussed healthcare systems. He said “In Italy, it’s free but you have to wait months to be seen.” Friends, patients are waiting over 6 months to be seen in my clinic AND they have to pay for it!

@oni_blackstock I respect their concern because MISTRUST in healthcare is legitimate. I talk about shared truths like covid is real and has killed millions around the🌎and at home. That wearing a mask in public at all times and distancing limits the spread. We still have a shared responsibility.

@JackieHillPerry Same. Watching Mr. Castile being murdered left me numb, and vowed to never watch another murder. The videos are absolutely necessary for the case, but I do not need to watch them.

@nhannahjones @chicagosmayor Social workers experience secondary trauma daily. I can't imagine what she saw and heard throughout her shift, only to go home to this. To inflict trauma and show absolutely no empathy to someone who is visibly vulnerable and in obvious distress is beyond ridiculous.
