@SNFonNBC as an ASU alum and Seattle resident, watching Rodney and Coach talk with Bobby Wagner about Jayden Daniels and Coach Dan Quinn as a Coach… I didn’t want the post game show to end. Great job crew🙌

@NFL_DovKleiman Basically all the players that ended their career on the raiders: Eric Dickerson, Ronnie Lott, Osi umyenora, richard seymore, roger craig etc

@DottoDitto @spatially @SpeakerJohnson @GOP If only it had been a conservative Judge, then this case would have been run properly. Is that your logic?😂
English

@spatially @SpeakerJohnson @GOP No....don't trust the judge. He's clearly partisan. Donated $$ to the dems, daughter fundraisers for the dems, and the last time I checked, judges are supposed to be bipartisan. And it is written if not, must recuse. So, what is your point again? Other than DJT Syndrome 🤔🤔🤔

My statement on President Trump trial verdict:
Today is a shameful day in American history. Democrats cheered as they convicted the leader of the opposing party on ridiculous charges, predicated on the testimony of a disbarred, convicted felon. This was a purely political exercise, not a legal one.
The weaponization of our justice system has been a hallmark of the Biden Administration, and the decision today is further evidence that Democrats will stop at nothing to silence dissent and crush their political opponents.
The American people see this as lawfare, and they know it is wrong—and dangerous. President Trump will rightfully appeal this absurd verdict—and he WILL WIN!

@eliastrejo @doublestuffit They did show confidence in him by going for it twice instead of kicking the field goals, no?
English

@doublestuffit Almost felt like they needed to show more confidence in him to end the second half.

Not gonna lie #RaiderNation the #Raiders blew it and had their opportunities to win this game.
That said, it was pretty cool to see them fight like that on the road and keep that game close.
This defense is for real.
The next 3 games are at Allegiant Stadium.
KC, MIN and LAC. Have to win all 3
English

@eliastrejo No, They don’t have to win all three but they have to win two and one of those has to be against the Chargers.
English

@eliastrejo Let me translate this for all of you: Mark Davis is the problem.
English

#RaiderNation this is why the #Raiders haven't won a Super Bowl since 1983 and why they haven't had more than two winning seasons in the last two decades.
The last ten years are a perfect example and this is the pattern this franchise needs to break.
In those 10 years they have had 4 Head Coaches, 3 GMs, 12 1st round picks only 3 are on the team currently.
It started with . . .
In 2012 the Raiders and GM Reggie McKenzie hired Dennis Allen. That season they did not have a first or second round pick because of trades from the previous coaching staff and front office.
In 2013 their first two picks were DJ Hayden and Menelik Watson.
It wasn't until 2014 when the Raiders gave Allen a decent draft class that included Khalil Mack, Derek Carr, Gabe Jackson, Justin Ellis, Shelby Harris and TJ Carrie.
Dennis Allen was fired 4 games into the 2014 season. The rookie Class experienced their first coaching change.
In comes Jack Del Rio in 2015 excited about the 2014 Class and has Reggie McKenzie as the GM still.
First three draft picks for the Raiders are Amari Cooper, Mario Edwards and Clive Walford.
Del Rio goes 7-9 in season one. 12-4 in season two, and then go 6-10 in season three.
Mark Davis fires Del Rio after three seasons and hires Jon Gruden.
Gruden takes over the team and feels that the roster is not built to win. He decides to trade Khalil Mack before he has an opportunity to coach him.
He later trades 2015 first round draft pick, Cooper, for another first rounder.
The Raiders are now set up with 5 draft picks in 2019 and 2020. Unfortunately, Gruden fires Reggie McKenzie and brings in Mike Mayock to help him build the team with 5 first round draft picks in two years.
The Raiders missed on 4 of those 5 first rounders and then missed on their 2021 first round pick.
Gruden is fired and Rich Biscassia is not retained as the head coach.
Davis hires Josh McDaniels. The first season doesn't go as well as they hoped after trading for Davantae Adams.
That off-season McDaniels gets rid of Derek Carr and Darren Waller. He wanted to build the team with players he felt comfortable with just like Jon Gruden.
Turning the corner into 2023 the offense was supposed to be the strength of this Raiders team and it has been a complete disaster.
Eight games into the season and Josh McDaniels is fired. The Raiders are in search of a new head coach and potentially new GM again.
This cycle in a 10 year period is exactly what is keeping the Raiders at the bottom of the league.
Young players don't get developed here and free agents don't stay here because coaching staffs are changing constantly.
Gus Bradley brought in some players that helped the Raiders make the playoffs in 2021 and key players were not brought back the next season.
Gruden didn't care about Mack and Cooper.
McDaniels didn't care about Carr and Waller.
There is no long-term developmental plan for draft picks and usually the general managers are just implementing their scouting department and trying to figure out what the coaching staff wants.
McKenzie had to do that with three different coaches and each coaching staff wanted different players.
A struggling first-round draft pick isn't going to get time to develop from a coach that comes in that needs to win now.
Free agents might take the money but they also understand that the coach that brings them in might not be the same coach that they have towards the end of their contract.
Assistant coaches know that it is a risk to accept a job with the Raiders because history shows they won't be there for more than two or three years.
This can all affect the quality of players, coaches and the ability of draft picks to develop.
Until this changes the Raiders are going to struggle to win consistently and become a perennial playoff contender.

Update: Magic Johnson, the new Washington #Commanders minority owner, said the team will consider a name change after this season.
Which name do you think the Washington team should be named?

English

@Rob1guy @RaiderCody @Raiders I’d take J-Jacobs over those other three rb’s you mentioned. Why draft him in the first round if you are going to give him a second contract when he performs exactly like a first rounder 🤷♂️. Its time for Mark Davis to make an owner decision.
English

@RaiderCody @Raiders I typically agree with the "don't pay the RB position" dynamic, unless the dude is extremely special. And Josh is exactly that. Super unique. Unfortunately, Dalvin and Hunt both out there and Saquon holding out too. I feel like the cards are stacked against this situation
English

@Rob1guy @TheRealDudja And not to mention how Jet li got in there? Although a Jackie chan, Jet li, Jason Stratham and Keanu Reeves would make for a pretty badass Matrix Resurrection part deux
English

@TheRealDudja Is this an all time list? Cuz Bruce Willis ain't exactly in acting form. If so, where's Brando? Downey Jr? Bale? Day-Lewis? Hoffman? Ford? Penn? Crowe? Bridges? Seymour-Hoffman? Ledger? Statham makes the list for action flicks, but Tom Cruise doesn't? Like...

@OFiggy @BillSimmons Man those Jay Schroeder years were brutal. I remember being shocked every year where he came back to be the starting qb again.
English

@BillSimmons 2 tremendous What-If’s for the Raiders. Marcus Allen could have had Elway or Marino as a QB instead of aging Plunkett, Wilson, Hilger, Beuerlein, Marinovich & Schroeder. 🙄
English

This piece is bonkers! There are like 20 “what???” moments but I think the one that stunned me the most was Al Davis believing the league blocked him on a John Elway trade in 1983. Somehow never heard that one. Incredible football What-If.
