Hey @airquotesmedia - it’s Mahm -DAH - nee. Not hard to say - it’s just like it’s spelled - but I think I heard it four different ways on @CurseOfPolitics today. Please get it right or you’re telling on yourselves.

@Citizen004 @MarkJCarney @JustinTrudeau @liberal_party What you say is true. Carney can’t shake it. And yet your guy is still losing. Read Chris Nelson’s column in yesterday’s Calgary Herald. The CPC can’t seem to win no matter what the ‘facts’ might be in the rear view.

@maxfawcett James Moore complained the CBC was “platforming” these people. The same people who were allowed into a Poilievre rally…

The longer Carney waits to axe a Liberal candidate who urged supporters to hand over a Canadian citizen to communist China to collect China’s $200,000 bounty on the man, the more we wonder: Just what are Carney’s ties with China?

Unilaterally ending our single most important alliance, before you've even won a mandate at an election, seems like a bit of an overreach. Caretaker governments usually take care to not make any major statements or decisions during an election campaign. What could go wrong?
Brian Allen@allenanalysis

HOLY SH*T. Canada just torched its alliance with the U.S. Carney didn’t mince words: “The old relationship we had with the United States—based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation—is over.” That’s not a policy disagreement. That’s a geopolitical divorce. And it’s all unraveling in real time.

@jamiljivani The fact that this tweet is still pinned a week into the campaign explains why you’re currently losing.

Trudeau is trying really hard to convince my generation that his high-deficit federal budget is good for us. We aren't falling for it. My generation put Trudeau in power in 2015, and now we'll be the generation to vote him out:

It’s very clear Goldberg oversold what he had. But one thing in particular really stands out. Remember when he was attacking Ratcliffe for blowing the cover for a CIA agent? Turns out Ratcliffe was simply naming his chief of staff.

The Atlantic has already abandoned their bullshit “war plans” narrative, and in releasing the full chat , they concede they LIED to perpetuate yet ANOTHER hoax on the American people. What scumbags!

@Citizen004 @andrew_leach Fair. Just pointing out that this election will be sharply focused. But, you’re right. That wasn’t the way to do it. Apologies.

@Citizen004 @andrew_leach You’ve really nailed the ballot question here Dwayne. My neighbours are really fixed on this while they hang Canadian flags and shop for groceries.

John Turner assumed power with the Liberals holding a majority government—147 seats out of 282—not a minority with an opposition on record threatening to bring down the government, nor with Parliament prorogued during a tariff war to avoid that defeat. These are differences that represent critical distinctions. While you may think all of this is fine, well, and good, I am firmly of the view that "fair-minded people" need not "see legitimacy in this arrangement, given all the circumstances," to use my earlier words, and need not view this government or this Prime Minister as holding the moral authority to govern regardless of what influencers are telling them they should feel, believe, and think. That Carney has the legal right to do so is an entirely different matter. That others, in different "circumstances," have done so is irrelevant. In life, people may have the legal right to do all sorts of things, but in certain circumstances, some may view the exercise of that right as morally sound. To many, this is one of those cases.

Patriotism is a tactic and nothing more for these charlatans. They only appeal to national pride when it's advantageous for them to do so. They'll be back to calling Canada a postnational state "with no core identity,” again the day after the next election.
