@samesfandiari Steph’s best chance now at a 5th title, sadly, will be if he takes a contract discount à la Duncan late in his career. Might be another rest him and get through Draymond’s contract to reload for when he’s 40.

@GSDOUBLEU @warriorsworld In his limited defense: Draymond was horrific in 2020 when Steph got hurt. He, maybe more than any player, needs to be revved up to go. That’s probably why he’s succeeded in marquee defensive matchups recently.

@BontaHill The warriors were fully stocked for 40 years between titles. Their front office hasn’t made good trades besides Butler falling into their lap. Their title window is shutting for a long time once Steph is no longer a 1A option.

The post-Curry era obviously will have its bumps and bruises, but with fully stocked picks and cash, I don't believe it's as daunting as a lot of y'all are making it to be.

@timkawakami Agreed that perfect players wouldn’t exist, but it does speak to a mentality versus other teams that are more all in that they didn’t move those picks for some kind of player, and a veteran is a more known quantity than a draft pick.

Fans have every right to point out the draft misses. But this world where they could've traded both Kuminga and Wiseman for perfect players who would've fit perfectly and at perfect salaries and won a perfect amount of titles is ...

You're free to have your own opinion and yes, those picks were misses. But I can't stand patronizing crap like this. Also, they won the '22 title AFTER the picks. And the veteran player most likely to have been acquire was ... Bradley Beal. Guarantee of 10 more titles!

Very true--there's nothing in sports like NBA Stans. Weirdest thing to me is that it never matters to them if the player actually earns it.
In fact, earning it is almost a negative to them -- everything must be gifted to the beloved player.

@samesfandiari It feels like a miscalculation (that MT has pointed out for years) by the front office that if in two-three years, Steph isn’t Steph anymore and they want to tear it down, they can ship the players they got in trades for firsts too.

They traded 2 picks for Andre Iguodala and another pick + Monta for Bogut. Both were championship caliber role players.
Either you believe you got enough star wise with Steph/Jimmy or you don’t. If you do, your goal is to get high impact guys who effect game in ways other than ball in hands (aka role players)

@timkawakami @KO_Crowley Sorry for the extension: it seems to me a trade for Trey Murphy III for Kuminga, salary matching piece and draft capital could very much be like the Celtics trading for Jrue Holiday, vaulting them up a tier and leading to a title. Would Lacob’s eye to the future stop such a move?
