KENYA POSITIONS ITSELF FOR ASSERTIVE DIPLOMACY AT THE 19TH AMBASSADORS' CONFERENCE Kenya has signaled a more assertive and strategically aligned foreign policy posture, as President William Ruto used the opening session of the 19th Ambassadors’ Conference to outline an ambitious diplomatic agenda anchored in economic transformation, multilateral engagement, and geopolitical balance. In a keynote address delivered in Nairobi, President William Ruto framed Kenya’s foreign policy as a critical instrument for advancing national development priorities, urging diplomats to recalibrate their missions toward tangible economic outcomes. He emphasized that diplomacy must increasingly serve as a “frontline engine” for trade expansion, investment attraction, and regional integration. Read More mfa.go.ke/allnews #AmbassadorsConfKE2026

We strongly support enhanced cooperation through international frameworks, particularly through INTERPOL and UNODC, to strengthen the global fight against fraud, disrupt transnational criminal networks, and safeguard the integrity of financial and digital systems Today, I was honoured to represent Kenya at the Global Fraud Summit 2026 in Vienna, where I called for faster, real-time intelligence-sharing mechanisms that keep pace with the speed and sophistication of digital crime, stronger public–private partnerships, and sustained investment in capacity building, training, and technology transfer. Kenya formally endorses the Call to Action on Combating Fraud and the Global Public–Private Partnership Framework against Fraud, and commits to strengthening participation in international cybercrime operations. I reiterated our commitment to work with partners to promote regional cooperation, harmonize cybercrime legislation, and support the development of a regional fraud intelligence exchange platform, ensuring that the digital revolution remains a force for prosperity, inclusion, and opportunity for our people.

Kenya and Singapore enjoy strong bilateral relations anchored on mutual interest and shared priorities, with Singapore serving as a strategic partner on cybersecurity, digitalisation of government services, ICT capacity building and knowledge sharing and skills development. As we work on a framework for the establishment of the Nairobi Metropolitan Police Unit as directed by H.E the President last month, the Singapore model offers important benchmarks on command structure, leveraging technology and strong community involvement in policing. On the sidelines of the Global Fraud Summit in Vienna, Austria, I held bilateral talks with Edwin Tong, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs of Singapore, to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration in security, national coordination and institutional capacity building.

📍 Kenya's voice at the global drug policy table. Our Board Chair Bishop Dr. @MairoriSte77864 , head of Kenya's Delegation to the 69th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (@CND_tweets ) in Vienna, has today paid a courtesy call to our Ambassador/Permanent Representative, Edwin Afande, MBS. Why this matters: The @CND_tweets is the primary UN body for drug policy. Kenya's active participation ensures our national perspective, challenges, and innovations are shared with the world. The courtesy call strengthened coordination between NACADA and Kenya's mission in Vienna, ensuring our delegation's work aligns with broader national foreign policy objectives. We remain committed to global cooperation in tackling drug challenges. 🌍🇰🇪
