Over the years, Kuwait has established itself as a valuable partner to Kenya in matters of development. Through our cooperation, we have witnessed major infrastructural developments that have enhanced our country’s transformation journey. In New York, held talks with the Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. We agreed to work towards enhancing trade and investment between our nations, investing in education, developing Special Economic Zones, implementing labour agreements and accessing markets for Kenyan products.

Strengthening Africa’s Digital Frontiers: Partnership with AfriLabs On the sidelines of the DCO Annual General Assembly in Kuwait, I held a productive bilateral meeting with the AfriLabs Executive Director Anna Ekeledo to explore strategic areas of collaboration between the Government of Kenya and AfriLabs. Our discussions focused on key pillars of our digital transformation agenda: • Linking Kenyan digital innovation hubs to AfriLabs’ pan-African programmes. • Expanding AfriLabs’ footprint in Kenya and the broader Eastern Africa region. • Enhancing project balance across the continent to ensure inclusive growth. We also discussed AfriLabs’ engagement in Kenya during the upcoming Connected Africa Summit, underscoring the vital importance of intra-African cooperation in strengthening our region’s digital capacity. Driving Inclusive Innovation A major focus of our meeting was the anticipated impact of these initiatives on youth, women, and persons living with disabilities, particularly those operating in small media enterprises. Kenya’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy and the draft Startup Laws Act were highlighted as strategic opportunities for partnership in policy formulation and innovation, ensuring Kenya remains a leader in the global digital economy. Together, we are building a robust, interconnected digital ecosystem that leaves no one behind.
