[🚨] NEW: Talk of Guehi only costing £20m is disingenuous. Sources familiar with the deal have told The Athletic that City paid Guehi’s agents a significant commission and that the player’s wage demands were understood to be around £300,000 per week. Over the course of a five-and-a-half year contract that represents an outlay on salary alone of £85.8m.

Jamie Carragher on Liverpool’s form:
“The concerning thing over this run is Liverpool are playing with the handbrake on. I don’t think that was the case at the weekend against Burnley. I think Liverpool played really well and sometimes you have to accept you don’t get the result that you really deserve, which Liverpool did.
I don’t think this game in isolation reflects the last couple of months. I think the dilemma for every manager in every team in every league is balance between attack and defence.
The balance was not right at the start of the season. It was too much in the attacking sense and Liverpool were leaving themselves open at the back. Arne Slot has stopped that. He has stopped the defeats.
The balance has almost gone far too one way, where the energy and pace isn’t there. He’s done that to stop the end to end games, to make the team stronger defensively.
That’s the conundrum for everybody, getting the balance right between attack and defence, and he hasn’t got that right this season. Maybe Mohamed Salah will change it when he’s back.”
@Keri23LFC@DaveOCKOP@grok It's just stupid journalism when you include players that are out for the season or will be out for extended periods talk just dunce kmft
