@tunesmithCoffey Thanks Kevin! So glad you enjoyed the book. Btw, I also play guitar and mando. Sending thanks and best wishes to you in NH. Pick free or die!

@KermitPattison Been reading & listening to the audiobook of "Fossil Men" simultaneously. Thank you for what must have been a remarkable effort on your part to research and write this book.

@SteveBrusatte @nicole_schatzel @tommyhigham @ChrisStringer65 Thanks, Steve. Very honored to be in such distinguished company!

@nicole_schatzel Thank you! For human evolution: check out The World Before Us by @tommyhigham, anything by @ChrisStringer65, & Fossil Men by @KermitPattison!

@SteveBrusatte my husband love ur rise series books. Specifically the end of mammals, with humans and their hominid relatives. Any recommendations for paleoanthropology books? He likes your style, part science part storytelling! Thanks.

@KermitPattison And of course I had to order the hard copy now too since there’s so much to underline, cross-reference and read word for word. White vs the Leakeys is an epic battle on the most “epoch” of stages 🔥

Some good news out of Washington: Politico recommends Fossil Men for summer reading. "Reads like an Indiana Jones sequel...This is a book about the ongoing quest to find us — and what human nature is at its core."

@KevinBCook Thanks, Kevin! Delighted to have you along on the adventure. Happy listening!

@KermitPattison Kermit, finally getting around to Fossil Men and loving it only 3 chapters in… and already listened to them twice because the early stories of White and Johanson are so good! And you really lucked in to a good reader too w Roger Wayne. I look forward to the journey each day now.

@langdoncook OMG--Crook the Crook! I still remember that's how you signed my yearbook. I also remember your horror story about "Citta"--the killer in the attic. You were the Stephen King of 8th grade English class. What a delight to hear from you!
English

@KermitPattison just found your book, can’t wait to read it. Would you happen to be “KK” of grade school days?

@HistoryByZhukov @davidzucchino Thanks! Very honored to be on your list, Marshal Zhukov. Spasibo!

@whignewtons @SteveBrusatte Thanks, Sarah! So glad you enjoyed the books. Apologies for the slow reply, but my Twitter presence is nearing extinction. Still, this can be counted as an immediate response so long as we stick to geologic timescale.

Fossil Men by @KermitPattison to be read along with The Rise and Reign of the Mammals by @SteveBrusatte.

Just finished this staggeringly great book by @KermitPattison — a non-fiction account of Berkeley paleoanthropologist Tim White and his team chasing the most ancient human ancestor bones in Ethiopia. Lots of deep science made graspable.

English

@sduncandrums @shannonrwatts Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks, Shawn!

@Roy_Lab_Thinks Just like that paperback, the author looked pretty haggard by the time he finished that book.
Thanks for reading!

Hominid fossils and the complicated lives of the men who find them. Already wore out this book by @KermitPattison

English

@lehto1969 Delighted that you are enjoying it! Hopefully being reminded of college days also makes you feel 30+ years younger.

Ornery? A little old fashioned? Sure, but he’s your dad—and you love him. Here’s a Father’s Day gift whose title screams out THAT’S MY OLD MAN!
#FossilMen.
Treat dad to a grand scientific adventure. He’ll learn to see the old body with new eyes.
