Todays @irishathletics national league was a joke. Behind time after the first event of the day with no update to athletes or spectators

It's a lot easier to say the right things than do them. Lots talk. Few do. Look towards the people whose actions mirror their values and ethics. Too often, those who talk loudly about values, often don't follow through with actions.

I find it very strange when an athlete tells me they can’t say no or have a critical conversation with their coach.

@ColmBourkeLJ @karagoucher @jmarpdx Of course, I don’t believe it is for everyone but there are several factors related to drinking that are far more detrimental. When we drink, we stay out later in general. We tend to break good eating habits. You can have balance and still enjoy these things as an athlete

@ColmBourkeLJ @karagoucher @jmarpdx The alcohol may have a positive mental effect by allowing the athlete to not fixate on their competition and be more relaxed. Many athletes get overly worked up and build high levels of cortisol in their bodies leaving them feeling more tired than 2/3 drinks ever could.

Great news out of the US this morning. @KevKelly_95 goes sub 4mins for the mile in 3:57.86. He joins the elusive club and goes 25th 🇮🇪 all time. We make that 7 DCU alumni/current students to break 4mins. @DCUAlumni @DCUSportsWellbe

@davehooperSSNS Putting little effort into social media will return smaller reach. With consistent good content that number quickly starts to rise. It certainly matters if the Facebook page is bringing business!

Question for social media guru's out there. Briefing by a sports ngo stated that the average engagement of Facebook reach is 8.5% I manage 1 Facebook page with an avg engagement rate of 40%. Is the NGO guy wrong or have I just done something brilliant? Or does it really matter?

@KieranKelly1988 Right, but people will follow the rules for a short time and fall into old habits. In the end of the day we are still risking infection by opening cafes/bars. Simple

@KieranKelly1988 It’s the act of opening up these businesses that is leading to the surge. You can’t expect people to police themselves. It doesn’t work. And believe me, this is far bigger than any personal problems have with others. Its about saving lives

@KieranKelly1988 Good opportunity for athletes of all levels to work on slow base work. Give the body a chance to recover fully from constant pounding. Could see a lot of big performances when this passes.

@ATVIAssist playing on console and having constant issues with voice chat/party chat on warzone. Any suggestions?

One of the most under-rated Irish distance runners of our generation. When healthy, he was capable of mixing it with the best

A year ago today I was unable to walk having suffered a stroke. Thanks to the mindset learned as an Olympian, 2 months later I was back running! Today I’m thankful to my family, friends, fans, and @mjp360 for the incredible support! #strokesurvivor #health #Olympics #motivation
