A point of personal privilege: Hats off to @CaliforniaICP host and @FOX40 news anchor @NikkiLaurenzo for doing a tremendous job serving as master of ceremonies of the event. To put it plainly, she is just so talented at these things and makes it look easy. @johnmyers of @CalChamber (formerly with the @latimes) did a great job moderating the panel with the candidates. He kept it interesting and engaging while ensuring it was serious, on topic, and relevant to the people of California. Nicely done!

Proposition 1 can be called now. It is up by 22,000 votes, which doesn’t seem a lot, but of the remaining 150k ballots outstanding that means the No side would need to win 86,000 - 64,000.
Take the 40k+ from Alameda County that prop 1 wins by double digits off the table, and there’s only 110k left with a bigger Yes lead.
At that point the No side would have to beat Yes by nearly 2:1.
That’s not happening. This one is over. Prop 1 wins.

Visited my alma mater @calpoly @cpjour on Friday for a wonderful symposium named after former mentor Jim Hayes.
Was thrilled to see that not only is @alyankovic in our Mustang Journalism Hall of Fame but there’s now a plaque outside the bathroom where he recorded “My Bologna.”

My wife, Lt. Col. Doris K. Winter (USAF, Ret.) died last night after a lengthy battle with the effects of stroke. She was 76 and native of Augusta, GA, who joined the AF in 1968 after college, one of the first women AF allowed to become staff officers. We were married 28 years.
