New paper alert! The subiculum (SUB) is the major output structure of hippocampal information. We previously reported that SUB neurons encode and route diverse navigational information (Kitanishi et al., 2021), but the representation as a neuronal population was unclear.

13/14. These findings demonstrate that grid cells can change their anchoring point as an animal navigates using self-motion cues. The change of reference frame occurs via a translation of the grid pattern. The orientation of the grid pattern predicts homing behavior.
