The future of democracy and our ability to defend ourselves cannot be separated from AI. It is an existential requirement for our sovereignty—a reality I recently discussed with former CIA Director Leon Panetta. Ukraine is the ultimate proof. Despite the loud narrative that America has abandoned Kyiv, the reality on the ground is entirely different. The American technology stack—AWS, Starlink, and Palantir’s AI targeting systems (and many more)—has been absolutely decisive in holding the line against Putin. Fuse the existential courage of the Ukrainian people with American tech, and the result is a profound geopolitical shift. Ukraine isn't just surviving; thanks to this tech stack, they are emerging as a formidable geopolitical player. They are rewriting modern warfare, advising allies on drone defense, and signing security pacts with Gulf states facing a barrage of Iranian drones and missiles. Against global threats from Russia, China, and Iran, Ukraine proves that technology binds the free world together. America hasn't abandoned Ukraine. Ukraine is (literally) holding the line on the American technology stack. And that is exactly why Western democracies must lead in AI.

Insightful post @peterasnellog Industries that are high power users are vertically integrating into owning the power…aka Power-to-X. $VIVO strategy underpinned by Power-to-X where X is the highest and best use of power. Today that is AI data centers.
Peter A Snell@peterasnellog

Something shifted in energy demand, and most people haven't caught up yet. Data centers are expanding. AI infrastructure is scaling. Industrial load is compounding. But here's what's different this time: The big technology firms aren't just buying power anymore. They're integrating backward into generation. Some are building their own capacity outright. When a buyer starts moving upstream to secure supply, that's not a trend. That's conviction. For producers, it opens a different kind of conversation, one beyond traditional channels. The question isn't whether demand is real. It's whether you can pair disciplined production with scalable infrastructure and bring it online responsibly. There's plenty of supply in the ground. The constraints are capital, speed, and execution. Moments like this don't come around often at the utility layer. The operators who win will be the ones who move with clarity. Biblical Stewardship in this environment means asking one question and not flinching from the answer: “Where does real demand meet real delivery?” That's where durable value gets built. "Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings." — Proverbs 22:29

For most of history, intelligence was scarce — locked inside human minds. But if Industrial Intelligence becomes reality, that changes. Intelligence will become abundant. Cheap. Infinitely scalable. And when that happens, the economics of everything shifts. Just as electricity redefined the industrial age, intelligence — as a utility — will reshape the foundation of society itself. Not just what we build, but how we build, govern, and compete. This is the inflection point. The future will be built by those who understand that intelligence is no longer a trait — it’s infrastructure.

.@Blackstone President Jon Gray says that just like Sears and other retailers went out of business in the dot-com era, but companies like Costco 25x'd, who wins in today's software landscape will be determined by who best adapts to the AI age: "If you go back 25 years, just as the bubble's bursting, as Amazon is starting to become a marketplace for everything, you could have said 'Retail will be an apocalypse.'" "And by the way, Sears, Kmart, Toys 'r' Us, did not make it. On the other hand, Walmart is up seven-fold, Costco is up like 25-fold, TJ Maxx is up 40x and has a $180 billion market cap." "For those companies that won, they either had something that was infrastructure-like, groceries, a great value proposition, or they really understood their customers. They found a way to navigate it." "That is the way to think about what's coming to so many businesses. Which is, if they just sit and operate the way they have, they have enormous vulnerability. If they do something and have a market position that's protected, they can end up doing much better."

Data sovereignty is no longer a policy paper — it’s concrete and megawatts. What’s interesting isn’t just the €1bn cheque; it’s the logic chain: trusted jurisdiction, low-carbon power, cold climate, and clear accountability for where data lives. reuters.com/legal/litigati…

Sovereign AI will not be won in conference rooms. It will be won in planning approvals, grid queue positions, and land that can be powered and cooled reliably. Governance matters, but it has to be anchored to the physical layer.

#Bitcoin conference is underway… But the real action is happening outside. #XRP Watching @Ripple take over Las Vegas makes one thing clear: The tides are shifting. 🌊 #XRPLV26 is shaping up to be a monumental moment. See you there. #LoveYouMucho

🚨 Artificial intelligence is now playing a MAJOR role at Getafe… and the results are scary. 🧠😱 Points per game have jumped from 0.89 to 1.37, with the club now sitting 6th in La Liga. 📈 AI is used daily as an extra “assistant coach”, providing tactical insights, hidden patterns and real-time data during matches. 📊 The staff even use THREE live tablets on the touchline — tracking tactics, physical data and a “victory dashboard” showing how close they are to beating the opponent. 📲 Players also receive detailed AI reports DAYS before games to anticipate opponents’ moves. 🤯 (Source: @marca)

AI infrastructure stocks are booming: AI infrastructure stocks have outperformed the equal-weight S&P 500 by +115% since December 2023, more than any other AI-related category. This group covers semiconductors, data center operators, cloud providers, networking equipment firms, and power companies, among others. This is followed by a +45% outperformance from mega-cap hyperscalers, including Microsoft $MSFT, Alphabet $GOOGL, Amazon $AMZN, and Meta $META. AI productivity stocks, which track companies using AI to cut costs and boost efficiency rather than build the technology, have outperformed by +10% over the same period. Meanwhile, software names have been the weakest group, trailing the average stock by -20%. AI infrastructure stocks are driving the revolution.

Singapore’s AI obsession just hit Everest peak. The Foreign Minister is self-hosting Claude on a Raspberry Pi and building a diplomatic knowledge graph using Karpathy’s LLM Wiki pattern. Wahlao! SG devs, the minister is coming for your job. And he’s not even using Cursor — he’s on NanoClaw running locally. Can someone git pull his code and give it a test. Only bad thing? He dropped this on Facebook instead of X. Minister, we need to talk. gist.github.com/VivianBalakris…

Singapore’s obsession with AI is hitting a new peak. 🇸🇬 🤖 Today, 4 of the top 5 most downloaded apps in SG are AI chatbots. Both the tech migrants and the aunties in hawkers are doing it. And what’s with this vpn at number 4.
