@HarrisonWFields Possible if every state allows early counting of absentee / early ballots. Most don’t (concern that early numbers would leak and influence later votes). Changing that requires action by state legislatures.

Florida is the THIRD LARGEST state in the union, and they deliver their election results in about THREE HOURS. This should be the STANDARD.

@_ClimateCraze Incorrect, again. In his seminal 1966 paper Manabe estimated climate sensitivity to increasing [CO2] (inclusive of real world H2O feedback) at 2.3 C per [CO2] doubling. This has proven to be remarkably accurate, albeit on the low side (current estimated sensitivity is 3 C).

@KevinGromley In that table, Happer shows he can duplicate water-vapor assumptions by Manabe (and others), while knowing those assumptions lead to inflated heating. How do we know? Manabe received a Nobel Prize for his "assumptions" which produced the largest verification errors.

Contrary to media madness about CO2 doubling, a CO2 increase from 400 to 800 ppm is only expected to cause an increase of about 0.71 C. The climate crisis is imaginary.

@_ClimateCraze But we do live on a planet with large bodies of liquid water. As the atmosphere warms it holds more water vapor — water feedback does indeed happen (basic thermodynamics) and is a primary factor in the CO2-driven warming we are experiencing. /2

@ChrisMartzWX If Milton hits Florida as a Cat 4 that would be 9 Cat 4 or 5 hurricanes to make US landfall in the last eight years. That’s more than the preceding 57 years.

I don’t deny [and never have] that carbon dioxide emissions contribute to global warming — they do. That doesn’t mean it is harmful. Once you get past the mental roadblock of one-dimensional thinking, it becomes clear that there is no evidence that warming has inflicted a great deal of harm on the state of human welfare.

@ChrisMartzWX question, what do you gain from denying the almost irrefutable evidence that fossil fuels contribute to global warming? like even if they didn’t (to be clear, they do), we know it still causes pollution and impacts the environment.

This is—or should be—a huge journalistic scandal. I had been waiting to comment until I was able to verify some things for myself. This much is now unquestionable in my view: 60 Minutes/CBS has posted two entirely different versions of Harris's answer to the same exact question. One answer is coherent. The other is a mess. What is still unclear is where they got her coherent answer from. It wasn't simply edited down from the longer version they posted... again, these are two completely different answers! Did CBS do a second take of the question to help her? Did CBS take unaired footage from another question and splice it in? That's unclear at this point. CBS needs to release the unedited and full version of the interview so people can see what actually took place and how they constructed the new answer. If the answer came from another part of the interview, someone should be fired.

60 Minutes removed Kamala's word salad in the latest version. 1984 is here.

@ChrisMartzWX Sure. Here is a graph of Earth mean T over the last 2000 years. During this period all modern civilization — agriculture, transportation, housing, etc — was built. Other climates favor reptiles, insects, bacteria. For we humans, staying in this range would be advisable.

Let me explain it to ya like you’re 4. The entire “climate crisis” belief system revolves around the idea that the planet is “too hot” and it is harmful. The fundamental follow-up question to that is, “What is the correct global mean surface temperature?” If you can’t provide me with a numerical answer backed by physical reasoning, that decimates your cause for alarm.

It's amazing how "climate scientists" continue their screaming about the 2024 heat, and still continue their silence about the Tonga volcano's unprecedented water-vapor induced global warming temperature spike.

I realize folks in the Southwest are tired of the heat, but...there's now a strong signal for a prolonged autumn heatwave over next wk that may culminate in October monthly record heat by next wknd. & additional warmer-than-avg weather after that, just less anomalous. #CAwx #AZwx
