I just heard the collective sigh of relief of people who filled out brackets that Duke didn't lose that game that aired right before the 4pm newscast.

I guess we all thought it was the “Vest” Weather Ever!

For once, the first day of spring will actually feel like spring! A nice way to kick off the spring equinox this Friday.

Had some messages asking about more of the details of the Tuscola to Villa Grove tornado. Here is a closer look at the path and the storm details.

Another tornado added and this one went right through Tuscola to Villa Grove with an EF-1 and max winds of 98mph.

Looks like we are going to wind up with 6 tornadoes in our viewing area from Sunday evening. 4 of them EF-1 and two of them EF-0. The one from Nokomis to Pana is still being finalized and may wind up being the strongest of all 6 in terms of wind speed.

And one more now southwest of Tuscola as an EF-1 and 95mph.

EF-0 between Arthur and Chesterville.

Another one now between Lovington and Lake City. EF-1 and 90mph winds.

Another confirmed tornado northwest of Bethany. EF-0.

Confirmed EF-1 tornado hit Assumption, IL Sunday evening.

Just going to put this out there right now. We will be doing everything to not cut into the big ten championship game and the selection show. We will be doing lots of coverage online, the apps, here on Facebook, but our policy is IF a tornado warning is issued we cut in. We will do the double box setup so the game/show may be in one box while we do coverage. I know even that will make people mad. So please, try refraining from calling the tv station with your complaints, or emailing, or commenting on here yelling at us. Again for severe thunderstorm warnings we will be online but tornado a cut in on TV is possible. Thank you and stay safe and weather aware today.

6pm Sunday radar view. It’s a thin line, but right along that line will be some very intense winds. This is one of those setups where we actually may be more concerned about damaging straight line winds over tornadoes. Reason being the wind may threaten up and down that line and impacting dozens upon dozens of communities, while the isolated tornado will be very limited in terms of one or two communities.

It’s pretty remarkable that at the same time Sunday, somewhere in our viewing area we could have severe thunderstorms, freezing rain, and snow all happening simultaneously. ⛈️🧊❄️😳

Aches and pains? A little headache today? Blame the drop in the air pressure. It’s dropped significantly just since yesterday.
