Dear all, I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and had time to relax with friends and family before we welcome a new year.
For me, 2025 has been an exciting season – my first with the @BMWMotorsport family in both the World Endurance Championship and IMSA. It certainly has not been an easy one for us, but we have made progress, and I cannot wait to get back behind the wheel of our updated car and continue the work together with the rest of the BMW M Team WRT. One race is already guaranteed to be a highlight, the Rolex 24 at Daytona, taking place on 24–25 January.
Thank you all very much for your support – it truly means a lot to me. I wish you a great evening 🥂🍾

We’ll be starting from P10 in the eighth and final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship here in Bahrain. It’s been a year full of challenges but also strong progress, and I hope that we, the entire BMW Team M WRT, can finish the season on a high note 🇧🇭💪#FIAWEC

It’s hard to think of another so iconic track as Spa 🇧🇪 Always a thrill racing here, and it’s the last stop before Le Mans. Marciello and I will start tomorrow’s race from a P11 🚀 #FIAWEC

P6 at Imola 🏁 Things were looking good for us for most of the race, but we lost performance towards the end. Still, another strong weekend for @BMWMotorsport – congratulations to our teammates in the #20 car on their podium finish 👊 #FIAWEC

WEC ROUND 2 – IMOLA ⚡🇮🇹 😍
While Nico Hulkenberg is racing his Formula 1 car in Jeddah, @KevinMagnussen returns to his Hypercar at Imola. The Danish BMW works driver is competing this weekend in the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at the iconic Italian circuit – the first of three European rounds on the WEC calendar.
Although Kevin has raced at Imola several times in a Formula 1 car, this will be his first time tackling the track in a Hypercar. He’ll share driving duties with his regular WEC teammates, Dries Vanthoor and Raffaele Marciello.
“Imola is an iconic place with a lot of history. It’s a fun yet challenging circuit with its narrow and twisty layout, which gives it a character that modern tracks often lack. The fans and atmosphere are also fantastic. I’ve only ever driven Formula 1 cars at Imola, so it takes a bit of time to get into the rhythm. But our preparations have gone well so far, and I’m looking forward to another round of the World Championship,” said Kevin Magnussen.
The WEC race at Imola goes green on Sunday, April 20, at 13:00 local time (GMT +2).

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW 💡 ⤵️
1️⃣ Kevin Magnussen and his teammates narrowly missed the podium with a solid fourth-place finish at the WEC season opener in Qatar this February – a strong result that raises expectations heading into Imola!
2️⃣ Kevin Magnussen isn’t the only Dane competing in the Hypercar class. At Imola, he’ll go head-to-head with fellow Danes Nicklas Nielsen (Ferrari), Michael Christensen (Porsche), Mikkel Jensen (Peugeot), and Malthe Jacobsen (Peugeot).
3️⃣ The 4.9 km, 21-turn Imola circuit sees Hypercar drivers reaching top speeds around 310 km/h, with more than 50 percent of the lap spent at full throttle. Last year, over 75,000 spectators attended the Italian round.

Great to be back at Imola 🇮🇹 Iconic track, fantastic crowd. We’ll be starting from P3 tomorrow – can’t wait to get this thing started 💥👊 #FIAWEC

Not the Sebring race we had hoped for. After fighting our way back to the top of the GTP field, we were taken out of the race in the pit lane due to an unsafe release by a competitor. Thanks to everyone at @bmwmmotorsport and @rllracing. You all did great 👊🇺🇸 #IMSA

Pole at Sebring!!! Another brilliant qualifying by @dries_vanthoor1 🚀 Huge thank you to everyone in the BMW M Team RLL. We’re all set for an exciting 12-hour race here in Florida 🤩🇺🇸 #IMSA

“A great weekend and a promising start”
Close but no cigar for @KevinMagnussen, who, together with his teammates from @BMWMotorsport, finished in fourth place in this year’s edition of the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona – Kevin’s first assignment as a factory driver for the German Hypercar team.
Kevin shared his BMW Hybrid V8 with Belgian Dries Vanthoor, Swiss Raffaele Marciello, and Austrian Philipp Eng. The four-driver squad started the race from pole position. Thanks to a strong pace, high stability, and excellent work in the pit lane, the team remained in the fight for victory throughout the entire race. However, close racing with rivals from Porsche in the final stages necessitated a last-minute pit stop, ultimately dashing their hopes of a podium result.
“Naturally, it’s an incredibly disappointing way to end what looked like a superb start to the season. But there are still plenty of positives to take from the weekend. We had great speed, and apart from that frustrating incident in the final stint, we managed to run a clean race. The car completed the race without any technical issues, which proves that all the hard work the team has put into developing the car has paid off,” said Kevin Magnussen.
“It has been great to finally get started with my new assignment in sports car racing, and I’m looking forward to the season opener in the World Championship series in Qatar next month, and especially the 12-hour race at Sebring in March,” he said.
Well done, Kev! We’re looking forward to more action when the Danish race ace returns to the track for the first round of the FIA World Endurance Championship in Doha, Qatar, on February 28.
