I'm close to having a prototype air-gapped standalone AI knowledge-base server that hopefully will help a ministry in a communist Caribbean country. Idea is to have a self-serve AI for seminary students and church leaders that also has transcriptions, translation ability, and RAG AI interactions via Open WebUI. Very close to have the first iteration ready for testing.

Just spent two days with senior staff at Anthropic and a group of Christians deeply committed to finding redemptive paths for AI. Encouraging on many fronts. Above all I think the guests were unanimously blown away by the humility and moral seriousness of Anthropic's leadership.

Looks like ESV and NLT have options to request higher usage, so if traffic took off could likely address that. But the LEB might be the more straightforward fallback option: server-side cache for 24 hours (haven’t checked their actual terms on caching) would almost certainly give plenty of headroom for growth

@KevinRossen Hi - just circling back to this. Do those api's let people use them at scale? While we don't have a tonne of traffic at the moment I worry about things taking off and then having promised something beyond what I can provide.

ESV and NLT have limits of 5,000 requests per day, so yes it could max out. Each request could be multiple chapters (500 verse or half of a book limit), so with some clever engineering could pre-load chapters adjacent to the selected chapter to lower the actual requests made. The Lexham API is much more generous at 5,000 per hour

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐑𝐔𝐍 𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 BUT WITH A TWIST This year it will be fans vs. broadcasters. Each game I will send out my typical 'HR Pick?' tweet and one fan will be chosen against the broadcaster. Pretty simple. One point/home run for that game. The fan chosen can choose whomever he/she wants while the broadcasters can't choose who the fan chooses AND we can only use a player once/week so if we use Corey on a Monday and Wyatt on a Tuesday, we can't use either guy until the following Monday! ONE LAST THING! You aren't just representing the fans on twitter...at least once/series (and maybe more) we will be mentioning your name and your pick on @RangersSNtv so we can continue to show love to our fans. You can ALWAYS respond to the tweet and put your pick on record but the fan selected to represent the fans for each given game will be the first fan who responds who hasn't been selected on TV yet. If a fan is picked and we don't mention the fan on TV that game, he/she will be eligible for a TV mention later on in the year! Any questions?

Major League Baseball is aired in the morning for Japan. So technically they eat breakfast with it being on television. Here’s their #openingday commercial. No hyperbole, when I say this, it might be greater than any US MLB commercial I’ve seen. Well done and worth the watch for any baseball fan.
