@DaveJWVillalva In have been watccing this stuff for months and it is massively boring. This is because None of the "film makers" can actually write anything decent. It always comes down to STORY. Doesn't matter about the medium it is conveyed with.

ATTN: AI Video Creators & Filmmakers Do you feel underwhelmed or uninspired with generative video right now? Share your take or get mine below 👇 Like you, I’ve watched a lot of GEN:48 films this past week. For the most part, everyone’s patting each other on the back and saying, “Great job‼️” That’s true because it’s HARD to make a decent shortie in 48 hours. But I’ve also read critical feedback saying: • Slow motion clips are boring • Eye-candy clips aren’t enough • AI voices ruined quality productions • They’re just trailers, not true short films • Chatbot written scripts all sound the same • Voice-overs are the easy out for making movies These criticisms led me to reflect on the competition - and I realized that I watched most submissions at 2x speed. Why? Many of the reasons listed above. Why am I sharing this? For 2 months, I’ve been unhappy getting 6-8 hours of sleep per night. Because I love being obsessed with making AI videos. I love leaping out of bed at 4am thrilled to work on a project. I love trying to stay awake while editing late night (like during GEN:48). But for 2 months, I’ve been stuck, and frankly, kind of bored. Why? Because I’ve been wondering, “What’s next?” First, I thought the tools would be further along than they are now. Second, I thought more innovative works would be published by now. Both by others, and especially, myself. There’s some cool stuff out there, but it’s been missing something: • Standout storytelling. Do we really need more slo-mo montages of popular characters from other people’s IP’s? Do we need another trailer for a movie that never comes out? Do we need another AI-written voice-over narrative? “But Dave, it’s hard to make standout productions with the current tools!” Hey You, it’s hard to make standout productions with the traditional tools, too! Would you rather have? • Gorgeous clips with a subpar story or • A gripping plot with subpar shots I vote for the latter. “Stop Dave! It’s too hard to craft a story that leaves a lasting impression!” Uh, yeah… That’s why so few storytellers produce breakout fiction or films. Which proves my point: Trailers, montages, and eye-candy clips are a lost cause. The nostalgia and newness in generative visuals is over. It’s time for compelling stories. So this is my renewed purpose: • To generate character-driven narratives that reveal the true nature of humanity. And this means I must go beyond any "limitations" the tools offer. Because I’m done taking the easy way out. And this is my public commitment to making movies that challenge my creativity and satisfy my spirit. My stories won’t be perfect. My visuals won’t be perfect. But at least I won’t be bored. And I’ll be happy knowing I’m pushing myself and others to escape our echo chamber of mediocrity.
