It was so nice to keep in touch on here this summer, even despite all of Elon's BS. Time to sign off. See you all in 492! #envir491 #poecap

Main takeaways so far (even though I'm only like 2/3 of the way through my internship): 1. the standard practice of carbon accounting has come a long way- but is difficult to quality check against reality 2. Voluntary carbon markets are constantly changing #ENVIR491 #poecap (1/2)

My key takeaway from my internship is that meaningful edible perrenial garden design is no easy task: it requires in-depth research into the site climate and the diets of the communities you are aiming to serve #envir491 #poecap

My key takeaway from my research is that we need to expand our fungi cultivation infrastructure in the US. We could be producing nutritious food, biomaterials for construction and air filtration, and compost all from this one organism. #envir491 #poecap

@lucyjtoner When I interned for a nonprofit last year, this is definitely what I learned too! Still feeling iffy on if I can make a career out of it and still pay off my student loans haha

My second takeaway from #ENVIR491 is that nonprofit work is hard. It takes a lot of unpaid or barely paid time, but this work often directly impacts communities, so get involved. Help out where you can, and remember to thank CBOs and nonprofits for their community impact.

@GahaganAmelie Yes, of course! It’s really interesting— mycelium leather is one of the only mycelium based materials made from pure mycelium rather than a mycelium bio composite, mainly because lack compressive strength is not an issue when it comes to synthetic leather
