Someone needs to explain to me how defunding the state so that developers pocket even more money is going to fix the housing crisis.

New report finds that keeping a person homeless in Quebec costs $72,521 per year, including $17,000 in policing expenses. Providing them a home costs less. We've known this for years, but politicians prefer to campaign on more punishment than more care, even if care is cheaper.

Winterlude cancelled because canal never froze. Ironman cancelled because of air quality from forest fires. Dragonboat Festival cancelled because of air quality. Perhaps we should reframe the climate emergency as a *tourism emergency* to get Sutcliffe to take some action.

Just a reminder. Even CDC, the most Covid-minimizing public health group, reluctantly admits approximately 1 in 5 adults now have a health condition caused by previous Covid. That's after only 3 years.

To everyone in Ottawa who can't go outside today because the air is poison, please remember this during the next election when a candidate or party proposes climate action and their opponent says it's too much/too soon.
