Kenyan police have turned Nairobi into a war zone, using tear gas, flash bangs and water cannon trucks indiscriminately against mostly peaceful protesters. PS: Please don't crowd around my team when you see us. It makes our signal terrible like this

"Investigative journalism has proven to be an effective tool in exposing financial crimes including tax evasion, money laundering, and misappropriation of public funds. However, many journalists lack the necessary protection, resources, and legal support to undertake this high-risk work. hence the Whistleblower Protection Bill is very vital." -@QueenterMbori, ED @AMWIK. @YoungMPsKenya @HonIreneKasalu @AnthonyBuluma @SheiMasinde @TIKenya @David_Indeje

Journalists and media professionals play a vital role in uncovering corruption, illicit financial flows (#IFFs), and governance failures. Despite their critical work, journalists, along with whistleblowers, often encounter threats, intimidation, and legal challenges stemming from inadequate whistleblower protections and restrictive media regulations. We are this morning convening a diverse group of stakeholders for an essential dialogue aimed at strengthening the legal and operational frameworks that support #journalists and #whistleblowers in Kenya. @QueenterMbori @YoungMPsKenya @SheiMasinde @TIKenya @AnthonyBuluma @Gitonga_Mukunji

I had the distinct privilege of training female journalists on reporting illicit financial flows, with a specific focus on domestic resource mobilization. This training session, which took place at Stoni Athi Resort, was organized by the @TRF in collaboration with the @AMWIK
