Sorry, but this needs to be said. Watching some of you react to streamers getting their X accounts hijacked by phishing is honestly disgusting. I’ve seen people refuse to spread awareness because “they should’ve known better.” No. That’s not accountability, that’s you being an asshole. If you’ve talked to someone for months and they send you a legit-looking link to support them, there’s a good chance you’d click it too. Stop pretending you’re above making mistakes. And by staying quiet, you’re helping this spread. More people lose their accounts because of that mindset. This industry loves to act supportive until something actually happens. Then it’s blame, ego, and silence. But put you all in the same room and suddenly everyone’s friendly again. Pick one. Content creation is hard enough. People getting burned don’t need your judgment on top of it. Stop being part of the problem.

There is an ACTIVE phishing attack spreading across @X right now and people are STILL (as of this morning) losing their accounts. I know 8 personally. ~15 more confirmed. What’s happening: - Fake crypto posts or “vote for this podcast guest” DMs - Users log into phishing site - Attacker adds a passkey -> locks owner out - Email gets changed -> full takeover - Compromised accounts have tweets protected - At least one instance where account owner had their phone number leaked Some victims are still logged in and STILL can’t recover their accounts. @Support and @Premium have done nothing for 24-48+ hours. This is ongoing. Accounts are still being used to spread the attack. This crosses into federal territory under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. @FBI this is worth looking into since X isn’t responding. Users need to be warned NOW. Affected account owners need assistance NOW. Do not click unknown links. Do not trust unexpected DMs. Check your account security now! This is already impacting Kick and Twitch streamers. Share this to stop more accounts from being compromised.
