This is a severely underestimated fulcrum point in American history. During the nineties there was a great societal upheaval over mass migration. California voters, in the face of an onslaught of media demonization, acted to save their state by passing Prop 187 to end all public benefits for illegals. It was one of the most potent examples of popular democracy defeating entrenched corruption. It captivated the attention of the entire nation. Millions and millions of Californians voted to recapture their destiny. The proposition passed in a landslide. It was enjoined by a District Court judge IMMEDIATELY and remained enjoined permanently. Illegals continued flooding the state, consuming benefits, a Democrat (Gray Davis) won the next election and entered into a court settlement to halt the law forever.

@fr0hickey @WilliamWolfe The problem is that these are activist judges. It's not a simple misunderstanding of the law, it's that their entire worldview is opposed to the idea of blind justice.
No amount of coursework will change that.

I disagree. Judgements have the force of law behind it and any wrong judgement has serious effects on the citizens.
My proposal is “one overturned judgement by the appellate court” and the judge has to take a 6month remedial class on the US Constitution from Hillsdale college, paid entirely by the judge. During this time, he cannot hear cases and has his pay docked by 50%.
After taking the 6month remedial and passing the test with at least 90%, the judge gets his/her old position back.
A second offense after the first and it’s a full year of remedial classes, without pay and passing the test with at least 90% reinstates the position at 50% pay.

We need some sort of “three strikes and you’re fired” rule for lower court federal judges.
If SCOTUS overturns you 3x in a year, you lose your job.
Raise the stakes a little for these activist judicial tyrants!

How many times can Judge Murphy get reversed in one year? The same day he is stayed for repeatedly refusing to follow the law, he issues another activist decision. We will keep appealing these lawless decisions, and we will keep winning. The question is, how much embarrassment can this Judge take?

The mistake she and other parents of victims make is they assume the pro-2A side has no empathy, and if we could just understand the unimaginable grief mothers like her go through after losing their child to a school shooting, we would all agree and pass more gun control.
That's just not correct. I have a child of my own, do you think I'm OK with the idea of an armed lunatic in her school? Of course not.
The disconnect is we reject your premise. Making good people helpless through disarmament does not equate to safety. Instead, we should meaningfully secure our schools and other truly sensitive places.

If they aren’t going to end the monetization program here, which I think they should, then at the very least they need to significantly raise the standard for who can monetize. The whole point of “revenue sharing” is that the people driving revenue should get a piece of it. But most of these engagement farmers and slop merchants aren’t really driving revenue. Nobody is coming to X to read their stuff. If it happens to pop up in your feed, maybe you interact with it. But their content is totally interchangeable. Just mindless filler. The more you incentivize and reward that kind of content, the more of it you get. They need to come up with a way to incentivize actual high quality content. If they can’t, the whole program should be scrapped.
