I’ve seen a few posts from Spurs fans saying IF we stay up on Sunday they hope there’s a pitch invasion to ‘celebrate’ staying up. That for me would just reek of embarrassment. Celebrating staying up? Have a word with yourselves.

@ROTS1882 I just think refs naturally don’t give the difficult decisions now . They have a safety net of the PGMOL, who let’s face it, make just as many fuck ups as before VAR. Corruption or incompetence. Makes no difference. The game is exponentially worse off with VAR than without.

I don’t believe there’s a conspiracy. I don’t believe referees are deliberately screwing clubs over. But I do believe the lights are on and nobody’s home. Referees are on the pitch, but they’re not really there. They’re waiting for someone miles away to make decisions for them, allowing time, pressure, doubt and this weird faux accuracy to dictate officiating. It’s so appallingly bad this season that it looks like match-fixing. It isn’t. It’s just horrendous officiating. It’s killing any integrity officials had.

@gloryglorytott Got what I expected unfortunately. Unlike some Ive paid attention for the last 30 odd yrs what happens at the Bridge in league fixtures . Couldn’t understand the jubilation at the WH result, like it was a done deal. Inevitable it goes to the last game.

Yep. They are making just as many mistakes as I remember before VAR even with the benefit of slow motion replays. Refs now naturally often use VAR as a safety net, so don’t call out the difficult decisions. Rather leave to VAR to sort out. Easy that way. Shifts blame.

@Pipey78 Doesn’t make it a clear penalty tho. He got the ball. No foul. It’s not like he lunged in of his feet and took him out. Just a little toe poke. If missed the ball it would have been foul. I thought it was pen before replay.
