Kilkerran Single Malt

This limited annual release has been part of the line up from Glengyle Distillery since 2016 but it's been 5 years since the last bourbon matured edition which presents notes of elderflower, vanilla, pineapple, coconut and peat smoke.

The sherry maturation has proved popular over recent years with its rich, meaty, smoky characteristics, but for some the bourbon maturation will be a welcome comeback.

You may now be able to find the next set of Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strengths appearing on shelves and in bars. These were recently launched side by side, with each fully matured in either ex-bourbon or ex-sherry oloroso casks.

What better way to celebrate the legacy of Robert Burns than by enjoying a good whisky, just as the bard was known to do himself. "O Whisky! soul o' plays and pranks! Accept a bardie's gratfu' thanks! When wanting thee, what tuneless cranks Are my poor verses! "

This production period will be shorter than normal to account for the extended production period at Glengyle last year, which was a result of maintenance work at Springbank. We'll share more with you during this short window of opportunity over the coming weeks.

As we come to the end of the year, it is time for Glengyle Distillery to resume production. Our production team has been busy producing at our sister distillery, @Springbank1828 since March and will now move over to Glengyle. Let us know what you'd like to see from Glengyle

You can often find Donald pouring the drams in the warehouse or conducting a blending session in our new laboratory! He has worked for J&A Mitchell for the past 16 years, starting off in the @WmCadenhead shop then taking on various different roles in his time with the company.
