@Eintrachtrob Teachers don’t need time to wrestle with the impact of AI in education and assessment. We need to be included in decisions around education and assessment. @Education_Ire have failed to take the teacher voice seriously. Repeatedly ignoring in class professionals.

Was thinking about this yesterday. I'm coming to the conclusion that FF and FG and senior civil servants are handing over our education system to US corporations & businesses. Decisions on the education of the next generation are being made in California, not Ireland.

Always been fond of St Bridget my mom Bríd was a fan. I used to get her a primrose on the 1st of February. I try now to make a cross or two this time of year to remember mom and the saint. Extraordinary women both.

@rtenews First year “you just put an old phone in the pouch” The real questions are how are students to access canteens at 11 and 1. Schools without devices use Teams and Google Classroom accessible on phones for messages, class activities and resources. I’m sticking with my own solution

@Gtreacy3G I use it with senior Biology. Students put in phones during class. I surveyed students said they engaged better homework was easier and voted 70/30 to keep it. Phones are used at break and lunch to pay at the canteen. We have 1600 students the logistics of pouches isn’t practica

@Kilkerrin Perfect idea for junior school, but senior school students move around to different classrooms throughout the day, they would be on their phones going from one class room to another.

This high tech solution to phones in the classroom came in at €13. Has been in operation for 3 years and I estimate that next year and additional €0 will be needed to maintain the service. There was no lobbying from Argos as part of this installation.

Honored to chat with this man. We talk about connecting with people and how vital that is. Well this is a 20 year connection. You never know where that first hello will go, so grateful for this one.

@mole_street @ncseirl Under €15 keeps phones out of reach, easy to implement, no massive storage required. Perhaps the minister might engage with schools regarding the actual value attached to the constant barrage of new initiatives she is rolling out. Many issues facing learners not being addressed

Minister O'Gorman has explained how having phones stored 'somewhere safe' away from pupils would be better. We'd suggest using a locked broom cupboard, but we assume that @ncseirl has already compelled schools to open Autism classes in the locations.
