Per the report, Piker and his fellow activists used the trip to promote the regime and protest the U.S. embargo, while staying in luxury hotels and meeting with communist officials even as ordinary Cubans grappled with the regime's deepening economic collapse. Piker's on-camera position throughout has been that the Cuban people's hardship is the fault of — who else — President Trump. This now stacks on top of the Treasury Department's OFAC subpoena to Piker and CodePink's Medea Benjamin over the same trip.
