I have Brighterdaysahead running to around 162 today which is equivalent to 169 for the geldings, meaning The New Lion would need to find another 10lbs on his best figure (Turners last year). Who knows if she can reproduce it at Cheltenham, though? Who knows what figure The New Lion might be able to run to? It remains a leave-alone race for me, but I'll stick me neck out by saying IF they both run, and it's good/soft. I'd take Lossiemouth over BDA in the Champion Hurdle. She just loves Cheltenham.

Gordon suggesting Ballyfad will join El Cairos in the Supreme...I'm surprised. The Turners is a much more winnable race at the moment. Perhaps he will have a rethink once the dust settles - like he did with Romeo Coolio and the Arkle. Unlike Talk The Talk who graduated from bumpers, Ballyfad came from the pointing field. My money is on a softening of his stance as we get nearer to the Fez, my pocket certainly hopes so!

With Leader D'Allier 1/4 to beat trees at Punchestown, it might be a good time to get on his smooth Leopardstown conqueror Ballyfad at Bet 365's 20/1 for an open-looking Turners. Gordon has El Cairo for the Supreme so I expect Ballyfad to go to the Turners. He could be good too.
