We are proud to announce the appointment of James Kilroy as AFC Welwyn’s new Managing Director. A founding committee member and a huge part of the club’s journey from day one, James has been the driving force behind AFC Welwyn’s marketing, media and production growth, helping the club secure a Bronze award at the 2025 Football Content Awards. In his new role, reporting directly to CEO/Owner Tawhid Juneja and Co-Owner Lisa Juneja, James will oversee all non-football operations as the club enters an exciting new era. His focus will include growing our in-person fanbase, strengthening supporter engagement and continuing to improve the matchday experience for supporters, volunteers and the wider AFC Welwyn community. His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the club as we prepare for our 2026/27 groundshare at Hertford Town FC, bringing the Romans closer to the heart of Welwyn and Welwyn Garden City. I assumed it was something to do with a game Potton United v AFC Welwyn who have been deducted one point. But nothing confirmed by the league as far as I am aware.

Only our second time at the @The_FCAs and we are pleased to come home with a Bronze award. Huge thank you to absolutely everyone that voted for us, it means the world ❤️ The progress we have made across YouTube, Facebook, Insta, X and TikTok is a huge team effort. Madi, Kilroy and Carli may get most of the publicity, but our amazing commentators Dave and Michael have been there since day one and provided so much entertainment on every single match and live stream. We have had numerous camera assistants from James' daughter Evie, Dave's daughter Georgie and Phil Neville's son Harrison, showcasing what a family affair this mad house is. More recently Leon has been tremendous on main match day cameras and Kyran has been our match day tweeter, announcer and general dogs body for James 🤣. Also a shout out to Joe Pirie who has been on comms a few times and Will McClelland's slightly drunk mates 🤣 And we cannot forget young Charlie who also had a couple of stints on comms. Hennessey and Kiely drove our development team coverage and this season Nicole, Titch and Leah have started producing some great content for our Ladies Team, so hopefully they'll be picking up an award next year too ❤️ If we've forgotten someone we are so sorry, there have been so many helpers and so many memories and we are still a little jaded from last nights celebration 🤣🎉. Searsy’s Back Where He Belongs 🧡🖤 We’re excited to announce that Dan Sears has returned to Stotfold FC, re-joining the club from AFC Welwyn. The 25-year-old centre-back is no stranger to The Fold. Searsy played a key role in the club’s rise through the divisions — winning the league at Step 6, securing playoff promotion from Step 5, and helping the team to a 7th-place finish in our first season at Step 4. After gaining Step 3 experience with Hitchin Town and a recent spell with AFC Welwyn, he now returns as a commanding, reliable presence who will once again enhance the backline.
