Excited to share our recent pre-print! The Vibrio cholerae encoded Nezha anti-phage system (SIR2-HerA) restricts virulent vibriophages ICP1, ICP2, and ICP3 by depleting NAD+ (Abi💀). However, an ICP1 isolate can overcome this by encoding putative NAD+ regenerating proteins! ⚡️

Really excited to share my first preprint as a postdoc! Here, we determined that the BREX-inhibitor, OrbA, encoded by the lytic phage ICP1 inhibits BREX through the ATPase BrxC in V. cholerae. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Story time: when I started my postdoc with @WatersLabMSU in August last year, we aimed to use V. cholerae to understand how genetic interactions, including epistasis and pleiotropy, influences its pathogenesis and evolution. 1/18

Super thrilled to announce that we secured BRaVE initiative funding to establish "Phage Foundry" with a dream team!! 🥳 Aim is to develop a foundational platform that integrates many aspects of phage research and rapidly design countermeasures for AMR pathogens.

The lab is moving to the @institutpasteur. A bit intimidating to run a lab where so many of my favorite scientists work/ed. But I'm thrilled to become a Pasteurian to launch new crazy scientific projects with everyone there. I'll try my very best to be up to the task.

@kseniakrasileva My understanding is it has to be equitable across PDs in the same lab

I've also heard about labs not able to offer students/PDs more than negotiated by unions as it wouldn't be equitable across students/PDs in a particular uni. It's true for students. Is this true for PDs?
