Journalist Muhereza Kyamutetera & 15 other residents of Mulawa tried to stop construction of a Balokole church in their area, saying it would make noise for them. Justice Kinobe said their fears were speculative and dismissed the case. @BbegMedia bbegmedia.com/journalist-kya…

No please. A true church of Jesus Christ will never make noise for neighbours, especially at night. You don't need to shout to be heard by God. What the churches are doing is wrong and unbiblical. Matthew 6:5-8 ESV [5] “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. [6] But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. [7] “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. [8] Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

@elonmusk "I welcomed you into my home. We broke bread together. Grandmama made you a cannoli. And how did you repay my generosity? With a rug. Made from the butt of a skunk. A skunk butt rug. You disrespected me. You disrespected my Grandmama, whom I buried in that skunk butt rug."

One of my delights on the just-ended USA trip is setting my eyes on this book, I BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, for the first time. It comprises messages I delivered at Kabwata Baptist Church over 30 years ago. In view of today’s confusion, those messages are more pertinent now!

Desiring God
Desiring God@desiringGod·
Are you just using Jesus? Receiving Christ in a saving way means preferring Christ over everything. It means desiring Christ himself, not just what he can do for you. It means being satisfied with all that God is for us in Jesus. Message: “Right with God, Right with Man”

@kirabomeansgift @FredrichKizza @Phanerookampala Amen. Thank you. But note: by the time Paul wrote Ephesians, God was still giving new revelation to the church. Letters were still being written. Today, the bible is complete. All the revelation is in there. There's nothing new from God for outside the bible.

@KimKimuli @FredrichKizza @Phanerookampala Since you quote Ephesians, sit with this; “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,” Ephesians 1:17 NKJV. Paul prayed for you and you reject the same spirit by which he ministered

The four gospel accounts are in the Bible. The issue discussed is a preacher in Kampala today teaching outside the bible, and calling it new revelation from God to him. And I am saying that's false. There are no new revelations from God today outside the bible. There are no new accounts of who God is or what God wants outside the bible

Yes, it doesn't matter how fast/much the universe changes. The word of God and it's interpretation remains the same. What Ephesians 2:8-9 meant to the gentile saints in Ephesus is then, is what it means today. There's no new revelation/interpretation. Anyone teaching new things is a false teacher. Let God's curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you. Galatians 1:6-9 NIV

@KimKimuli @FredrichKizza @Phanerookampala The way we understand the universe has changed over the ages of time as lenses delve deeper through research. Suddenly some of u Christians think the understanding of the word of God should remain rigid and seen only from one angle. Then why do we have all 4 accounts of the NT

Yes, that's also in the Bible already. Old Wine: Old Testament/Covenant way New Wine: New Testament/Covenant way... There's no new wine today... no new revelation, no new prophecy, no new visions..... everything we need today is in the FINAL, TOTAL, COMPLETE revelation: The Holy Scriptures

Especially when they meet scriptures that teach against things they've grown up doing... like: 1 Corinthians 14:27-28 [27] If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. [28] If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.

When Christians take the Bible seriously, it’s usually not unbelievers who get annoyed… it’s lukewarm Christians that do.

Ooh God!! Look at the type of preaching you people feed on. So all the poor born-again Christians in Te Amier village, Alebtong district (northern Uganda) don't understand Christ's sacrifice. Have you heard about the Macedonian churches? In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. (2 Corinthians 8:2) Reducing Christ's sacrifice to solving earthly material wealth problems is the work of satan through the prosperity Gospel. I pray you flee that cult. You can be a true believing follower of Christ and poor. There are so many reasons why believers can be poor: bad governance, sickness, COVID19, corruption, persecution, etc. However, the evil is in being poor due to laziness. The Bible teaches us to... work hard and do what is good with his own hands, so that he might earn something to give to the needy. Ephesians 4:28

No born-again Christian who understands Christ's sacrifice at Calvary can have any association with poverty You may come poor, but to remain poor is “criminal.” You’re welcome to join @Phanerookampala for the greatest women's conference on 13.06.2026 at Phaneroo Grounds, Naguru

@ainomugishajim Watoto isn't for the poor, just as phanero is. These are "rich grooming" churches.

@GodwinTOKO Can't work because those churches mentioned falsely preach that salvation/believing in Christ leads to a sickness free life. Paying for medical insurance would be a contradiction. Kyoka the leaders do get sick and seek medical care secretly.

Has any church tried medical insurance for members in Uganda? Would be great if an uptown church that understands these things - Watoto, Phaneroo, or Mbonye’s - tried it one of these days as a partnership with an insurance firm. Given the cost goes down with numbers, I imagine if the church has, say 10,000 members, the cost wouldn't exceed 200,000/= per person annually [that's a figure on the very high end of course]. So, each church member would pay at least 200,000/= once every year towards medical insurance - those who pay more subsidise those who can't pay the full amount. Medical costs are serious problem for most Ugandans, and that's a problem the state won't be address soon - we know this for a fact. Perhaps it's time loose associations like churches took the mantle and did something with it. I’m sure we only need a church or two doing it well before word spreads and we have other churches/associations doing it. What’s more, imagine how a member feels about the church when they get involved in an accident in Kotido the church insurance scheme makes all the difference with their medication and survival. A real miracle from Jesus - as in real! As for those who’ll come to jazz how it's their prophet/apostle/pastor who does the healing, just be sure they don't have some insurance for themselve before you jazz. Chances are, they do!

We have decided to stop fostering after a lot of prayer. This has contributed to the extremely hard time I was having. The Lord has made a new chapter abundantly clear and children will not be in it. Our ten year span of baby loss/infertility/failed adoption story ended with a No. He said no…. The door is closed and will remain closed. It’s over. A lot of the time we hear women praise God for how good he is that they got what they asked for (and they are right to do this!) but we are going to praise God for what he said no to as well, he’s still so good and right, his ways are far above our own folks! My arms will remain empty, no one will call me mother and that’s ok too (no really, it is!) The ending isn’t always the way you think it will be but when we have Christ we are never truly empty handed 💜 Hard to accept at first, and I spiraled a bit, cried a ton, and threw some fits but HE IS GOOD STILL and we have peace/Joy in this decision. He is our everything and there is nothing in this vapor of life that can fill us like Jesus Christ! PRAISE HIM IN ALL THINGS!
