FOREST OF NOISE by @MosabAbuToha is a deeply powerful collection of poems about life in Gaza. Uncannily clear, direct and beautifully tuned, they form one of the most astonishing works of art wrested from wartime. Publishing 7 November

@JackieKayPoet @BBC1 @bbcarts @bbcstudios I loved it Jackie, beautifully told. Your face lit by the images on the screen and your memories. Brought tears and smiles and my own childhood feelings home to me. I remember our first meeting at Lumb Bank...the recognition.

Poetry-lovers, are there poems you loved as a teenager that you stand back from now? For me, it's 'Deceptions' by Larkin. I always knew it was dodgy but is the way he buries the victim twice, then offers sympathy to the perpetrator skilful but creepy?

Still dining off this moment, every writer dreams of seeing their book shortlisted for the biggest award in publishing, but when you're working class, when you come from poverty and told to stay in your lane, it's the greatest achievement on earth x
