@hoyasszn I'm not seeing it with running it back with some of these guys again. Mack did not impress me this year. If we're being objective and not allowing the last few days to overshadow the larger sample size, we need to reconstruct a decent chunk of this roster

Malik Mack (SR), KJ Lewis (SR), Kayvaun Mulready (JR), Juice (JR), Caleb Williams (JR), Vince (5TH?) These are the MUST RETAIN players the Hoyas need to return for next season. Add a true point guard to play with Mack, a sharpshooter, and big and this is a tourney team.

@hoyasszn Actually agree with most of this. D I think is about as high as you can go for this year... Fun run the last couple days, but doesn't change how much of a failure this year was overall

Mine: 1. Year 2 (B) - first true season, 2 draft picks and with injuries he did pretty good. 2. Year 3 (C-) - very underwhelming due to expectations but capped it off with some momentum 3. Year 3 (D) - obvious.

@hoyasszn Good teams find ways to win close games. Clearly much improved with Vince, but this is unacceptable in year 3. We need to stop with the moral victory talk and "unlucky" mantra. We were horrific tonight defensively and that's putting it lightly

This has been the unluckiest season for Georgetown where they could easily be on the bubble but the basketball gods just don’t want to see them succeed. So many single-digit losses where Hoyas could easily be 10-5 and not 5-10. It’s really terrible.

The quote from Cooley going around is being entirely misconstrued IMO. He was talking about finding perspective despite failures (which he took, and has taken, responsibility for) and being grateful/finding joy in coaching Georgetown. There’s plenty to be critical of, that comment isn’t it

I genuinely get the sentiment here. Sports are a distraction to help us forget about the other stuff. HOWEVER. I can’t imagine performing poorly at my job and telling my boss: “well there’s starving kids around the world, so this isn’t really that important.”

@stephanthony_ I fully agree you can't miss that many FT's. However, a shorthanded Creighton team, on the road, gave up sub 60 points to this same Xavier team. You can't give up 80 points at home to a 100+ kenpom team. That is coaching at its core to have this squad mentally ready defensively

This ain’t on Cooley at all .. you can’t be a college hooper and go 25-43 from the FT line. Mentality ain’t there.
