i don’t really think your content has to fit into some specific niche just to talk about your race. sharing your culture and experiences is just cool in general and it means a lot for representation, especially for people in your community who see themselves in you. i’m proud to be Asian and i love telling chat about my family traditions. it’s just as fun hearing about theirs too. that kind of exchange is very special. it’s not even about what you look like. it’s about the culture you share with people who have similar backgrounds that makes it meaningful. it might not matter to everyone, but i think a lot of people would agree that seeing bigger POC creators talk openly about their race and culture is cool bc it inspires people who can relate and reminds them that they can be big too some day. having a black vtubers awards isn’t exclusive. if anything it’s INCLUSIVE because it’s platforming a marginalized group in a niche where they aren’t highlighted as much as their peers. and to those of you that are clowning on this event, you are such an insecure loser.

not supporting black history month as a viet person is so cringe. Ho Chi Minh (former president of vietnam) was notoriously known for being one of the first asian leaders to see the racism being directed towards black people and their struggles for equality. you don’t need to be american to understand the importance of black history month and the struggles black people faced and Ho Chi Minh proved that. sympathy and knowledge is not locked behind your own geographical region, especially when the internet is a thing. educate yourself
