Being 1 woman around horrible actions of 1,000 men, you don't see the problem? It's not women "being around problematic men", it's problematic men being all around women. That's the point. "Chronically online people" I often experienced sexual and non sexual harassments outside of the internet space and men watched it happen without doing anything. Who are YOU to say what women did and didn't experience? And how is protecting one self toxic? If you feel threatened by others trying to protect themselves them maybe you ARE a part of the problem? You don't have to grape, murder or molest a someone to be red flag. If you are an enabler or a defender of alarming actions, you're a red flag too which sounds a lot like what you're doing right now. Ignorance aside, extremely stubborn too. Also, you ARE offended, but you aren't ready to accept that. If you do not fall under the category of alarming men then there is no reason for you to get offended and so worked up about it. All the good men in my life has no issues with women setting up spaces to protect themselves because they are aware of the statistics, they have seen how frequently women get creeped on by men, and they know they got nothing to worry about as long as they aren't a part of that statistic/category of men. So let the girls have their fun. Who said boys can't set up spaces to have their own fun too? If you want a fun space, make one. You don't HAVE TO hang out with girls if the girls wanna hang out amongst themselves. There are also other spaces where male and female can participate and have fun too. Why be upset over female-only spaces? You want more co-ed activities? Set them up. Literally nobody would stop you. Female-only spaces don't affect YOU personally the way you think it does. If you feel offended by them then you gotta look within yourself and think about why seeing female have their own spaces have such an effect on you. It's like getting pissed off for not being invited to an all-girls slumber party - it's a weird look, don't you think? Also for your education, a lot of times women say "all men" not because ALL men graped women but because so often when men see other men sexually harass a woman, they don't speak up or say anything about it which makes them seem like an accomplice and that's why they generalize and say "all men". I personally don't use that term a lot because most of the men in my life are green flags but I've also seen male strangers not do shit when I was harassed so times like that really does feel like MOST men don't hold other men accountable for being disrespectful to women and that's a bad look. Fyi, if a woman saw you getting harassed, they most likely will say something about it so there you go. The only way I can see this changing is if men hold other men accountable and if men starts to really shame other men for being creepy or weird to women, things like that will definitely stop those kind of men from ruining your chances with being around women, platonically or not. And of course, watch yourself so you're not one of those people who needs shaming. If everyone minded themselves and has their act together, there will be no problem with men and women being in the same space.
