With Shannon Braddock confirmed by Council and sworn in today, she is now the acting King County Executive. Braddock will serve in that role until Council chooses an appointed Executive (which could be Braddock or another candidate put forward by Council). The appointed Exec will serve until a successor is elected in November and qualified.

Three ways you can help unhoused neighbors during severe winter weather: Carry warm socks, hand warmers, ponchos, or emergency blankets to give to people who request help. Check in with local organizations that are operating warming centers and shelters to see if they need any donated supplies. Volunteer with an organization that provides warm spaces or resources for unsheltered individuals in your neighborhood or city.
