@theralkia Do you think there's a differentiator between "God is my safety net" and "Whatever happens to me is God's will"? Wondering whether they are truly one and the same or if one may be more mature than the other

How to know if your chakras are balanced: Root: you viscerally feel that God is your safety net; your feet are magnetically drawn to the ground with each step Sacral: you don’t punishment yourself for an occasional day of hedonism and you’re effortlessly creative Solar plexus: you don’t desire money or power and you know that what is meant for you will come; any lapses in career or finances are met with faith Heart: you love unconditionally, you forgive those who betray you but still hold boundaries, you trust your intuition and follow it fearlessly Throat: you know what you want to say and say it, you know who you are and you know when you aren’t being yourself; your voice is clear Third eye: you see the truth in whatever way is native to you (synchronicity, visions, felt knowing) and follow it as your GPS Crown: you see the purpose and meaning in everything, you see how everything in the outer world exists to guide you to the embodiment of your highest self

Does anybody have a good theory for why we're still doing philosophy even after Douglas Adams figured out the meaning of life?

@Hitchslap1 For example, consider the word "Gaol". While it may be difficult to process intuitively, one might have heard the word before in a story, book, or videogame, and looked it up to find that it is really just an alternative spelling of jail. The test here does not account for this

@Hitchslap1 It may be a good correlatory exercise but this could very well be due to familiarity with the words (which would be due to more frequent reading/reading at a higher level as resultant from IQ) rather than explicit verbal and linguistic intelligences.

You can literally test someone’s IQ in 90 seconds by asking them to pronounce 50 words. The more they get correct, the higher their IQ.

I’ve worked in hospitals that handed out SSRI prescriptions like a PEZ dispenser and have a few soapboxes about prescriptions without plans to de-prescribe and diagnoses without plans to de-diagnose… but I blame the systems that incentivize it (insurance) more than psychiatrists

@theralkia A lot of undergratuate psych is focused on cognitive models. Most education on even Freud is taught in a rudimentary (and VERY opinionated) manner. Most of the great thinkers of the field in the past have been forgotten, and most professors I know sneer at psychoanalysis.

@Thomasdelvasto_ I think a lot of people get the "Oh God I'm not allowed to do that!" impulse that prevents nearly everyone from doing so, and thus all of that food goes to waste.

@Thomasdelvasto_ Personally, I've always felt that my own, or yours, or anyone else's certainty is unnecessary for peace about the nature of the afterlife. The Lord will place souls where He deems them fit to be, and in His choosing to do so, isn't that already the best possible option?
