Yesterday's Wins Wins Wins sponsored Player of the Match for our @reddboroughfc @BirminghamFL side was Ryan Beech 🏆 First of all a couple of special mentions to another couple of players in Christos Constantinou and Ajay Bryant 👏 Chris put in a lot of work up top and assisted the 3rd goal and had it not been for Keeper Ajay then there's every chance we wouldn't have taken all 3 points...a mature performance from a young talent! But Beechy also put a shift in up top, constantly getting in to good areas of the pitch and a constant attacking threat, especially in the 1st Half. The only thing missing was a goal which he really should have got in the 1st Half but he keeps getting himself in to good positions and once that first goal comes, I believe plenty more will follow ⚽️ Well done Ry 👏 winswinswins.co.uk #UTB #redditch #birmingham #football

3 points needed, 3 points got for our @reddboroughfc @BirminghamFL side. It wasn't pretty but it doesn't need to be. Saturday afternoons are all about 3 points, and you take them however you can. We started strong, playing to our strengths and not overplaying. We got the ball in to some good areas but as is the case this season, we were outmuscled before we could apply any end product. We did break the deadlock after 25 minutes when a first time ball was put over the opposition Right Back for Hadley Jenkins to chase down, collect and drive in to the 18 yard box to smash home. Benson had a couple of opportunities but more so because we gave away silly free kicks around our own area but nothing came of them. We got a 2nd 3 minutes before Half Time when a ball was lumped up the field for Ryan Beech to chase down and square across the 6 yard box for unmarked Ben Andrews to tuck away. We thought it would be an easy half time team talk but our Right Back made a silly decision to try and play on the edge of his box, losing the ball and allowing Benson Cresconians to grab a goal back a minute before half time. 2nd Half and Benson came at us. It was very back to the walls stuff and it was good to see the lads have more fight about them. We managed to just get a toe in on the edge of the box, but if we couldn't do that we had players throwing their bodies in the way of shots and anything that did get through Keeper Ajay Bryant claimed or made some top saves. And though Benson huffed and puffed, they couldn't find that equaliser and we sealed the 3 points in the 91st minute when Christos Constantinou made his way in to the 18 yard box to square the ball across the 6 yard box for debutant Harry Stone to tuck away. Positives to take out of it and areas to work on. Unfortunately we're not going to get many chances to train now with midweek games coming up but if the players can take on board the advice like we gave at half time yesterday and apply it to their game instantly then we can still fight to climb this League. Another shoutout to my boys who completed their last ever League campaign today. Played 14, Won 13, Drew 1 (first game of the season), Lost 0. Champions 🏆 Unbeaten 💪 These lads have become a Manager's dream and if there was a parallel universe, I would take this lot through their whole footballing journey just to see where it could go. Everything about this team just works and the last day will be a sad one. 10 years. 10 years of everything. Some things in life just seem to work out, and that does seem to happen to me quite often, but this team has been the biggest joy of my existence so far. 5 of these lads have been Day 1's. Another lad came home this season after playing his first few seasons with me and then moving higher for a few seasons. Players have come in every couple of seasons and worked with me. Never made it about themselves. But put themselves in to this team and it all just worked. Couldn't be prouder of these lads. And I look forward to continuing seeing them grow in to adulthood and seeing how their lives pan out and I hope they keep me part of them. These boys I will back, support and defend til the very end. And the parents have allowed me in and I couldn't be more honoured, and everyone has just bought in to this team and created a moment that will certainly be remembered by me for life. We've got a League Cup to go at. What I'm hoping for should be obvious to anyone in the footballing world. And I know the lads are on the same page. We'll fight. I know that. You'll probably see more of these posts over the next few months and I have no apologies for them. 💙 @reddboroughfc

Yesterday's Wins Wins Wins sponsored Player of the Match for our @reddboroughfc @BirminghamFL side was Cyprian Hudzik 🏆 One player who I will be keeping my eye on over the next few years as this kid could do well in the game. Probably goes unnoticed by most as he's one of the quietest, but there's no fear in this one's game and he doesn't let his age hold him back. He's physical, doesn't mind a tackle, competes in the air and does the real work on a pitch most players shirk away from these days. It's early days but Cyp is one of those players every team needs if they're going to be successful. Cyp can go one of two ways...he finds a voice and he brings vocals in to his game to match his physical presence, or he'll be part of a loud team where he can go about his job quietly and he doesn't need to be the loud one but he'll fight and compete for every ball. Either way, I have hopes for this one. Well done Cyprian 👏 winswinswins.co.uk #UTB #redditch #birmingham #football

A disappointing end result after what had been our @reddboroughfc @BirminghamFL side's best performance in the 1st Half for some time. A change of formation, back to basics, the lads playing as was asked and, though it may not have been pretty, it was effective. We controlled the majority of the 1st Half, turning the Phoenix defence at every opportunity but just couldn't find that final touch or end product to put us ahead. We conceded a goal just before the half hour mark with Phoenix just being stronger in the tackle and a lobbed effort was tucked away after it rebounded off the post and Phoenix the only ones to react. We equalised through Christos Constantinou after a Hadley Jenkins cross and stayed level until midway through the 2nd Half. Just after the hour mark, same old story as the Phoenix attacker bullied his way past 3 of our players to blast home from close range. And then a couple of individual errors from our Centre Back leading to us conceding a penalty and 3 - 1 with 10 minutes to go. Unfortunately then our mentality was game over. And so it was. But it says everything when your Keeper only really has 5 or 6 things to do all game, 3 of those picking the ball out the net. Result aside, it was a proud moment for the Gorton family as our Keeper Coach and cover Keeper Dave was between the sticks and got to share the pitch with 16 year old son Liam who made his 2nd appearance in Men's football after making his debut on Monday night 💙 I hope we can take the 1st Half performance in to the next game and just be more clinical in front of goal. We'd also like to congratulate Jay Vangelder on winning his fight on Saturday 🥊 Jay was presented at our game last Monday night and presented our Player of the Match award 🏆 Well done Jay 👊 Big thank you to our Match Sponsor Craig Robinson Windows and Doors 🤝 With over 20 years in the Window trade, Craig is your go to for quality window and door fitting around Redditch and surrounding areas 🪟🚪 facebook.com/share/1HSmvPKF… Team Sponsors - @buxtonmediauk I Wins Wins Wins 🫶 buxtonmedia.co.uk winswinswins.co.uk #UTB #redditch #birmingham #football

Players being paid at Step 6 & 7....£100 plus....and then chasing the next 20 quid...no loyalty...no playing for the shirt...players playing the "STEP" game instead of the game of football itself...players moaning about pitch conditions...and then moaning when games are postponed...like you say, the love for the game has gone...and the game itself is going. Kids being brought up on an ideal and not a reality.

Blows my mind players would rather sit on the bench each week, get barely next to nothing game time because of the “STEP” football. Your not going to grow/develop as a player sitting on the bench spectating. The love for the game has gone #football #nonleauge #nonleaugefootball

I can only apologise to those that decided to come and support our @reddboroughfc @BirminghamFL side last night in what turned out to be some atrocious weather. And just as bad a performance. I take full responsibility for the lack of desire shown on all fronts. The buck starts and ends with me and obviously I need to up my standards to push these lads harder. What could go wrong, went wrong. We went 1 - 0 down midway through the 1st Half. We had a man sent off midway through the 2nd Half. We missed a penalty not long after. Then we conceded another 2. Enough said on this post. Well, what a day! If there's a group of lads I knew I could rely on, it was this group 💙 We have gone and won our last junior League campaign with a game to spare 🏆 We travelled to 2nd placed Walmley Colron where a point would have secured the League title. But who wants a point when you can take all 3 and really WIN the League. Things could have gone against us this morning...the pitch wasn't the best after rainfall through the night and the grass being long...the Referee deciding not to turn up so the Walmley Coach taking control of the game...odds were stacking against us but these lads have a different attitude and a different mentality this season. And I have to give credit to the Walmley Coach and even their lino, their decisions were made honestly and not with the situation in mind. But we were poor in the 1st Half. One of the worst I've seen us in recent times. Not winning first or second balls, we couldn't get our foot behind the ball, our defensive line was completely off and Walmley could have bagged a few goals had they have been more clinical or if our Keeper wasn't on top form. And it says something when you get questioned about your Keeper by the opposition Manager as to how good he was. 2nd Half after some harsh truths, we showed who we really were. We went back to basics and allowed our attacking players to do what they do. We ran out 6 - 1 winners! There will never be enough time or enough words to express just how proud I am to have been a part of all of this. Knowing a handful of these lads since they were 6 years old and then bringing in players every couple of years, becoming what must be one of the most successful 11 a side junior teams at Borough and in the 10 years of doing this, I can't remember a time where we've caused the Club an issue. This group has been a major asset to the Club and one I believe should be the standard of how teams conduct themselves. We have just one more League game left and then a League Cup to have a go at but very soon this will come to an end. I was ok with that back in June, but it's come so close now and so quickly that the last 10 years are really starting to flood me...but all with happy memories and friendships that I genuinely hope last forever. The support I have been given, as a complete stranger from a bunch of strangers, to guide their kids through this weird and wonderful game of football, and to have been allowed to have been a part of their lives, I cannot thank the lads parents enough. You have trusted me for these 10 years and I hope you feel that trust has been rewarded. The next couple of months is all about this team now for me, to achieve one more trophy if we can, but to continue a bond and a togetherness that I can only relate to what I had when I was a junior player myself. The good old days of Headless Cross. I think I may have actually come pretty close to replicating what we had there...and we had it good! You'll hear me wax lyrical now for the next couple of months about this team, and they fully FUCKING deserve it 💙 2022/23 Joint League Winners 2023/24 League Winners 2024/25 3rd place 2025/26 League Winners That, is how you go about 11 a side football ⚽️ @reddboroughfc

Today's Wins Wins Wins sponsored Player of the Match for our @reddboroughfc @BirminghamFL side was Divine Nkwelle 🏆 Put a shift in in the middle of the park and most parts of the field to be honest. Could have come off pretty early due to taking a knock to his ankle but he fought through it and didn't stop running for 90 minutes. You score 4 goals away from home, you expect to win...right? Not the case for our @reddboroughfc @BirminghamFL side today. After not kicking a ball at all in February, we entered March with a Semi Final vs BDFL 2 League leaders Birmingham Irish. Due to our Hellenic side also being at home we had to reverse today's BDFL Bill Hill Semi Final to the opposition's ground and with a few players unavailable we only travelled with 13 players. So not the preparation you like as a Manager, but you have to deal with what's thrown your way. We started slow and were 1 - 0 down within 6 minutes from a decent 25 yard strike that found its way over our Keeper's outstretched hand. But 10 minutes later we equalised through Christos Constantinou. 25 minutes gone and we went 2 - 1 down and had to make 1 of our 2 subs after the half hour mark through injury. 2 minutes before Half Time we conceded a penalty and found ourselves going in to the 2nd Half 3 - 1 down. As has been the case too many times this season, we decided to up our game from a losing position and just 2 minutes in to the 2nd Half we grabbed a goal back through Oli James Whitehouse and just after the hour dragged our way level through Full Back Jaykan Harnupdali. But all of that hard work was killed within a minute when Birmingham Irish went 4 - 3 up with some lapse defending. Then with 15 minutes to go we equalised for the 3rd time in the game, a second goal for C. Constantinou and a great finish it was. But would you believe it, we switched off once again at the back and within another minute we were 5 - 4 down. Unfortunately we just didn't have enough in us to come back again. But to show that fight to come back from a goal down, then to come back from 2 goals down and then to have to come back from another goal down shows we have that attacking threat and fight about us...but we need that fire from the first whistle and we have to do a much better job defensively if we're going to make this end of season count for anything. Apart from the first goal today, every other goal was just a high ball not dealt with. Which has happened too many times this season and we've not learnt from it. But we have 15 games and 45 points to fight for. Training is going to be limited with the amount of midweek games we'll have to play so the lads need to show some real desire over the next 8 weeks if we're to finish on any sort of high. Big thank you to this week's Match Sponsor Orpheus Theatre Arts 🤝 An independent, family-run performing arts school where young performers are supported, challenged, and inspired to grow in confidence, creativity, and craft. orpheustheatrearts.co.uk Team Sponsors - @buxtonmediauk I Wins Wins Wins 🫶 Once again a big thank you to Team Sponsors Wins Wins Wins for making the journey to support the lads from the sideline. They've shown a real enthusiasm since coming on board at the start of the season and I hope to see them plenty more over as we kick-start this manic end of season League schedule 🫶 #UTB #redditch #birmingham #Football

Come Tuesday, I may not want to get out of bed for 2 reasons - but will it be for good or bad? My BDFL side could get through to a Final on Saturday afternoon, my U16's could win the League on Sunday morning and then the BDFL lads could gain much needed 3 points on Monday night in the first of 15 League games to play in 9 weeks. So many weekends now without football, this weekend is non stop Football ⚽️ Let's see if I make it out the other side 😬
