3 points needed, 3 points got for our @reddboroughfc @BirminghamFL side. It wasn't pretty but it doesn't need to be. Saturday afternoons are all about 3 points, and you take them however you can. We started strong, playing to our strengths and not overplaying. We got the ball in to some good areas but as is the case this season, we were outmuscled before we could apply any end product. We did break the deadlock after 25 minutes when a first time ball was put over the opposition Right Back for Hadley Jenkins to chase down, collect and drive in to the 18 yard box to smash home. Benson had a couple of opportunities but more so because we gave away silly free kicks around our own area but nothing came of them. We got a 2nd 3 minutes before Half Time when a ball was lumped up the field for Ryan Beech to chase down and square across the 6 yard box for unmarked Ben Andrews to tuck away. We thought it would be an easy half time team talk but our Right Back made a silly decision to try and play on the edge of his box, losing the ball and allowing Benson Cresconians to grab a goal back a minute before half time. 2nd Half and Benson came at us. It was very back to the walls stuff and it was good to see the lads have more fight about them. We managed to just get a toe in on the edge of the box, but if we couldn't do that we had players throwing their bodies in the way of shots and anything that did get through Keeper Ajay Bryant claimed or made some top saves. And though Benson huffed and puffed, they couldn't find that equaliser and we sealed the 3 points in the 91st minute when Christos Constantinou made his way in to the 18 yard box to square the ball across the 6 yard box for debutant Harry Stone to tuck away. Positives to take out of it and areas to work on. Unfortunately we're not going to get many chances to train now with midweek games coming up but if the players can take on board the advice like we gave at half time yesterday and apply it to their game instantly then we can still fight to climb this League. Today's Wins Wins Wins sponsored Player of the Match for our @reddboroughfc @BirminghamFL side was Divine Nkwelle 🏆 Put a shift in in the middle of the park and most parts of the field to be honest. Could have come off pretty early due to taking a knock to his ankle but he fought through it and didn't stop running for 90 minutes. We're going to need that energy over the next 8 weeks with a heavy end of season schedule ⚽️ Well done Divine 👏 A big thank you to our regular pitchside supporters and Team Sponsors Wins Wins Wins for making the journey to cheer the lads on again today 🫶 Even with a broken toe, nothing stops these Ladies from showing their support 💙 Give them a follow and get yourself involved at winswinswins.co.uk #UTB #sponsor #football #redditch #birmingham

You score 4 goals away from home, you expect to win...right? Not the case for our @reddboroughfc @BirminghamFL side today. After not kicking a ball at all in February, we entered March with a Semi Final vs BDFL 2 League leaders Birmingham Irish. Due to our Hellenic side also being at home we had to reverse today's BDFL Bill Hill Semi Final to the opposition's ground and with a few players unavailable we only travelled with 13 players. So not the preparation you like as a Manager, but you have to deal with what's thrown your way. We started slow and were 1 - 0 down within 6 minutes from a decent 25 yard strike that found its way over our Keeper's outstretched hand. But 10 minutes later we equalised through Christos Constantinou. 25 minutes gone and we went 2 - 1 down and had to make 1 of our 2 subs after the half hour mark through injury. 2 minutes before Half Time we conceded a penalty and found ourselves going in to the 2nd Half 3 - 1 down. As has been the case too many times this season, we decided to up our game from a losing position and just 2 minutes in to the 2nd Half we grabbed a goal back through Oli James Whitehouse and just after the hour dragged our way level through Full Back Jaykan Harnupdali. But all of that hard work was killed within a minute when Birmingham Irish went 4 - 3 up with some lapse defending. Then with 15 minutes to go we equalised for the 3rd time in the game, a second goal for C. Constantinou and a great finish it was. But would you believe it, we switched off once again at the back and within another minute we were 5 - 4 down. Unfortunately we just didn't have enough in us to come back again. But to show that fight to come back from a goal down, then to come back from 2 goals down and then to have to come back from another goal down shows we have that attacking threat and fight about us...but we need that fire from the first whistle and we have to do a much better job defensively if we're going to make this end of season count for anything. Apart from the first goal today, every other goal was just a high ball not dealt with. Which has happened too many times this season and we've not learnt from it. But we have 15 games and 45 points to fight for. Training is going to be limited with the amount of midweek games we'll have to play so the lads need to show some real desire over the next 8 weeks if we're to finish on any sort of high. Big thank you to this week's Match Sponsor Orpheus Theatre Arts 🤝 An independent, family-run performing arts school where young performers are supported, challenged, and inspired to grow in confidence, creativity, and craft. orpheustheatrearts.co.uk Team Sponsors - @buxtonmediauk I Wins Wins Wins 🫶 Once again a big thank you to Team Sponsors Wins Wins Wins for making the journey to support the lads from the sideline. They've shown a real enthusiasm since coming on board at the start of the season and I hope to see them plenty more over as we kick-start this manic end of season League schedule 🫶 #UTB #redditch #birmingham #Football

We are happy to see our players dual signing up and down the female pyramid. Allowing them to play football when we don’t have games is good for the game, the players and both clubs. #LetThemPlay #ProudToBeBlue #UTB
