SALVATION: DOES IT EXPIRE LIKE NETFLIX SUBSCRIPTION? Brethren, How can it be that we sing “No power of hell, no scheme of man could ever pluck me from his hands” with enthusiasm and still argue against the validity of salvation? It’s either we are truly confident in what Jesus did or not. If Jesus saved you, you are SAVED. In fact, the understanding of you being kept by God is what fuels your growth, love and obedience. His perfect love casts out fear. (1John 4:18) Salvation is NOT just a confession or mental assent, it’s a concealment in Christ. It is the spirit of God taking up residence in a man’s heart as a result of believing the true gospel. He gives us a new heart—A heart that seeks to do his will. It is why we CANNOT be comfortable in sin (1John3:9). Salvation is that powerful! Salvation is NOT behaviour modification (even though it produces a change in behaviour as we grow), it is a literal resurrection from death. We were DEAD in our sins, Christ gave us life. It is SERIOUS! Jesus didn’t leave his heavenly glory, taste humanity for 33 and a half years; face scourging, naked crucifixion, shameful death, hell and the grave to give us something half-baked. He is the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith. It is why when someone says they renounce Christ, we have to question what they believed at first. For if they were with us, they would not have left (1John 2:19). The evidence of true salvation is that one remains and continues to seek to please the Lord—this is a product of the new heart by the working of the spirit. Salvation produces the fruit of righteousness in the saved as the saved matures and is fed Christ. 1Pet2:2-3 When a believer dies, we confidently say we know they are with Jesus at their funeral; NOT because they didn’t commit any sins, but because we believe they placed their faith in Jesus. If we don’t believe this, then we need to stop saying it at funerals and say “it was the last thing they did before death that will determine their eternity, therefore, we don’t know if they are with Jesus.” Let’s kuku say it like that and stop lying that we know they are with Jesus. Stop being scared of people’s sins on God’s behalf. The knowledge of Grace produces fruits of righteousness. It doesn’t encourage sin. Titus 2:11 makes that very clear. A desire to keep people on the straight and narrow shouldn’t make us downplay the efficacy of what God did in Christ. NO ONE will EVER merit heaven by their own “sinlessness”. As a result of God’s work in our hearts, we yield and respond because it is God working in us both to WILL and DO of his good pleasure Philippians 2:13. Finally, We REST ASSURED in what Christ Jesus did. We GROW in what Christ Jesus did. We are KEPT by what Christ Jesus did. We will REIGN with Christ because of what Christ did. Shalom. Kunle Kenny.

I expect Nigerians to have learned over time to prioritise certain values based on our current situation. I wonder why "fluency of speech" and "political wisdom" are more appealing to us than integrity, prudence, meekness, and compassion. Those who claim this man is just another regular politician are either dishonest or genuinely uninformed. Ultimately, the kind of leadership we hail and support reveals our personal values and principles. This should be a no-brainer.
