@MilanKore Sometimes the “house” isn’t cursed, sometimes it’s the environment, mindset, or buried issues we refuse to confront that quietly block our success.

Nobody stayed long in Mr. Afolabi's house ..
It was a tall, narrow building at the end of a quiet street.
From the outside, it looked normal. Fresh paint, strong iron gate, lightning, and a neat row of flowers that never seemed to grow or die.
But inside, something was wrong.
Tenants came with hope. They left with failure.
Sola was the first to notice.
He had rented the upstairs room.
He was a hardworking young man, full of plans. He woke early, ironed his clothes, and went for job interviews.
But each time he returned, his shoulders heavier than before.
"I don't understand, he told the woman from the next house, Mama Bisi. "I answer questions well. They smile at me, but they never call back."
Mama Bisi just looked at him quietly.
"It is this house," she said.
Sola laughed.
But slowly, he stopped laughing.
He began to forget things. Important things.
He missed opportunities. He slept too much. His motivation faded like smoke.
Downstairs, another tenant lost her business. One man who had been healthy fell sick often. Couples argued and separated.
Dreams died in that house.
Every night, Sola heard something.
A faint sound.
Scratch, scratch, scratch.
It always came from the staircase.
At first, he thought it was rats.
But one night, he heard something else.
A whisper.
He sat up, heart pounding.
"..leave.."
He froze.
The next morning, he decided to ask the landlord.
Mr. Afolabi was an old man with calm eyes and a slow smile.
"Sir," Sola said carefully, "how long have you owned this house?"
The old man smiled wider.
"Very long." That was all he said.
That night, the scratching was louder.
Sola couldn't take it anymore.
At midnight, holding his phone torch, he stepped out of his room and walked to the staircase.
The air was cold.
The sound was coming from beneath it.
He knelt down. His light fell on the cement.
It was cracked.
His heart began to race.
Before he could move ..
"Why are you there?"
Sola turned sharply.
Mr. Afolabi stood behind him.
Silently watching.
"I, I heard something," Sola stammered.
The old man stared at him for a long time.
Then he said quietly,
"Some things should remain buried."
Sola didn't sleep that night.
The next day, Mama Bisi told him the truth.
"Before you came," she whispered, "there was a man. A tenant. He argued with the landlord. After that, nobody saw him again."
Sola felt cold.
"They said he traveled," she continued. "But nobody saw him leave."
The next morning, Sola packed his things.
As he carried his bag down the stairs, he heard it again.
Scratch, scratch.
And a weak whisper.
"..help.."
He ran. He never looked back.
Years later, the house still stands.
New tenants still come.
Full of hope, full of dreams.
And under the staircase, something still waits.
Something that doesn't let anyone succeed.
Something that was never meant to be buried.
Something that was never meant to be forgotten.

@MilanKore It’s not always double standards, it’s unspoken expectations.
Some see presence as the gift. Others see effort in tangible form.
The issue isn’t fairness… it’s misalignment.

My birthday was January 13th ..
I asked this lady I was talking to for my birthday gift.
I remember laughing when she told me, "My gift is the full package"
I asked what she meant. "Myself," she said.
She came over on my birthday.
No box. Empty hands. Just her.
She smiled like she had given me the best thing in the world. Sex!
I didn't argue. I didn't complain. I accepted it the way she offered it. Great & intense sex.
Two weeks later, her birthday came. January 28th.
She sent me a list.
Shoes, perfume, hair, clothes.
I read it, confused. I laughed.
I thought we didn't need all that.
So I told her the same thing she told me.
"You don't need all these things. I'll give you the full package."
I expected her to understand. She didn't.
She got upset. Distant. Cold.
We stopped talking.
That's when it hit me.
When she gave herself, it was special.
When I offered myself, it was insufficient.
DOUBLE STANDARDS!!!
